Voice fits

My students chose this version after hearing samples from all of them. ( I play parts of novels as we cover them in class. ) I was concerned that it was not quite digital quality since it was produced back in 1980. They didn't care. The voice sounded like a young man. It fit the book. The others were obviously much older. I must say that, after hearing a few chapters, I think they made the right choice. Very effective reading.

Terrible recording

Terrible recording; distorted, poor reading, repetition of whole chapters.
This is not up to the quality of Audible books.
It is a wonderful story and deserves a better reading.

Regrettable.

Unfortunately, this is the notoriously bad 1871 'Hardwigg' translation. Tom Collette's reading was excellent, but I was extremely disappointed to realize which version of the book it was.
