About this listen

Blessed by the gods and goddesses, edoli have lived alongside humans for thousands of years. While some hold such abilities as shape-shifting and controlling the elements, the rarest are the kings and queens who can bond through blood with keepers and amplify their power...and their own.

Titos has been seen as useless and weak his entire life. He's never been able to bond with another edoli and has nothing of value to offer his queen. When a stranger saves him from certain death, Titos's life will never be the same.

Seth isn't just some random stranger: he's absolutely gorgeous and claims to have been drawn to Titos to serve him as his keeper. He assures Titos he is a king, and a powerful one at that. But a king isn't all Titos is....

After nearly killing Seth during their bonding, Titos is terrified of his abilities. Luckily, Seth isn't the only keeper drawn to Titos's call, and Mazki knows what to do to save Seth's life. The connection between Titos, Seth, and Mazki is immediate and strong, and it isn't long before Adom and Kail are drawn to Titos as well.

Contains mature themes.

It had potential.

I want to like this book because it does have potential. However, the writing style isn't that great. For example the author keeps repeating the name of the characters when they speak. Like, "Tito said." "Seth said." "Tito said." "Seth said." Or for example: Tito walked into the room and sat down. Tito didn't know who else was in the room. Tito was nervous. Tito etc... It gets very repetitive. Also, I get writing sex scenes, but when literally more that 50% of the book is just sex scenes, it's too damn much. It's like everyone in this book is on aphrodisiacs 24/7. "Oh, this guy I just met 28 minutes ago? Yeah already made out with him, did a magic bonding ritual while making out more, fucked, then lusted something awful, then made out some more. Oh, look at that? It's been 52 minutes, time to fuck some more." It's genuinely ridiculous. And how is it that Tito has gone 8 years on the run, but then suddenly he's an alarm beacon to every eligible Keeper on the market. And how do they all see him and think, "He's a King obviously." But every single other person Tito has grown up with can't tell shit?
There are so many plot holes, and ironically, most are caused by the ridiculous show of lust that every male character apparently has for Tito.
I feel this book would have been significantly better if they had only limited it to maybe one or two sex scenes and had the rest of the characters act more intelligent and less like lust-filled honey badgers damned near every single chapter. The narrator did an okay job, but not noteworthy in my opinion. There were quite a few times when I just drifted off because the voice wasn't really captivating. I also found myself skipping ahead on some of the
Wasn't really worth my time having listened to the book.

Want to hear more

The story overall was pretty good. My only gripes are that there was too much bonding all at once. I Know everything was kind of going fast story wise, but I wanted to get to more of the story than we got. Not mad about it cause that bonding was nice and not out of place, also leaves you with questions, just a lot at once. The other gripe was that it was too short, Which is actually a compliment in a way.

Love it

I loved this series in ebook and John Solo does a fantastic job bringing these characters to life. Can't wait for more of Titos and his Keepers.

An interesting concept...

The story is interesting and I am just intrigued and curious enough to see where this leads. Titos, the principle character and the king has an ability that draws others, the keepers, toward him. How they bond is the interesting concept that I speak of. First Seth, then Mazki, Adam, and Kail. Lots of bonding, which dilutes the story a bit. The backstory where Titos is in danger because of who and what he is, which led to running for his life...I will read the next part of this series...
