About this listen

Piamen is a tranquil world in the far reaches of the galaxy. Since throwing off the yoke of alien invaders, they have remained free and peaceful...until the coming of the Imperium. When they refuse to join mankind's star-spanning empire, a force of Legiones Astartes is despatched to bring the planet to compliance. And when the Night Lords come, darkness falls. My favorite Primarch and his legion in action.

I am awestruck by the quality of this audiobook. The effects and background music really set the mood and bring you into the story. Something sorely missed in regular audiobooks. I would love to hear more like this.

Not my favorite legion but good short story

The book has multiple readers.
A look into an army that uses terror and fear as its weapons of choice.

The Cruel Angel

Konrad is portrayed beautifully here. I am floored at how much the Night Lords are slowly drawing my interested

Solid portrayal of Curze

This shows a really good picture on how Konrad Curze wages “war” while he was still loyal

Know what you are getting into.

If you know anything of the Night Lords or Konrad Curze, then you know that they use any means to sow fear into compliance. If this is your first romp into Warhammer 30K, then you have been warned.

Performances are good, except for Curze who is voiced by either Jonathan Keeble or Toby Longworth. I just came off the Art of Provocation where (one of the two) played Lukas the Trickster and Curze sounds more like the Jackal Wolf than the Nighthunter.

Morbidly delightful

I have heard in vague detail the particular events of this drama. A morbidly delightful surprise that I would get to live it so viscerally through the performance and sound effects.
