Multiple mysteries are solved as newspaper rivals slowly figure out how their growing feelings can be addressed. As with all the stories in this series, the historic setting is well developed. I really enjoy the political views, setting, explanations for events during the time frame - it really helps you get immersed in the story.

A pleasant romance as well

The third installment in the Willow Valley Historical Romance series is just as amazing as the first 2! It's beautiful, surprising, engaging, and endearing. Angelica and Simon appear to be rivals or are they really striving to achieve the same goal? I love when childhood friends reconnect and it turns into love. The story takes place at a time when women often had to write under a pseudonym. A thrilling story with suspense as well as romance. I listened to this book on audible. Enjoyed the different voices of the narrator.

A Pleasant Rivalry is Book 3 in A Willow Valley Historical Romance by Linda Weaver Clarke. What a marvelous story. Simon and Angelica make goid rivals from two competing newspapers. In 1839, not many women are journalists and Angelica is determined to bet rival Simon to get the scoop first... there might even be a bet in the mix! Carolyn Kashmir gave a good performance as the narrator. I really did enjoy the story and am looking forward to Linda Weaver Clarke's next audio booj.

Enjoyable rivals as to getting the latest scoop on the robberies or arsonists They knew one another before, could it be more this time. She also writes under a pen name to bring the truth out. She is a woman that was a good role model, a bit stubborn, and hesitates to know about the beliefs and what he wanted in life. Given audio for my voluntary review.

Good Narration

I liked that this book included lots of things that occurred in history. I also liked that the author included some things that occurred to her own relatives. The romance was a slow build since there were many other things going on in this book, even a bit of mystery. It also included Christian values and the importance of finding ones faith. The characters were relatable. Simon was just a very loyal and sweet man. Angelica was an independent woman with strong beliefs.
