Whether her heroes are English lords or sexy vampires, this classic historical romance from Lynsay Sands proves that the New York Times and USA Today best-selling author has what it takes to captivate her listeners.

In this delightful tale of medieval passion, a loyal knight competes with a dangerous villain for the affections of King Edward III’s comely goddaughter - who is not really the petulant brat she first appears to be.

If you love the historicals of Julie Garwood and Jill Barnett or are a fan of Lynsay’s Argeneau vampire paranormal romance novels and want to experience another side of their talented author, make a date with The Brat!

Not a Dull Moment

Witty, funny and romantic. At first it seems these two would never end up together. Things quickly change though through some unsuccessful trickery and things get hot. Turns out all her quirks are everything he’s been missing and needing in his life. Enjoyed every moment.

Interesting and well read! Loved it!

I do like Lyndsay Sands books but some can be slow however this one was not at all, kept me interested and entertained throughout, the story was wonderful and the voiceover was perfect! I do voiceover so that can make or break an audiobook in my opinion, especially someone who can do male and female voices so wonderfully. The story also was refreshing in that it didn’t have those frustrating things that have you annoyed at the characters! Highly recommend

Romance and Murder Mix Well

The number of murder attempts woven into the entire story added good suspense. However , I would prefer the husband break Marie's assistant 's arm.

What a firecracker!

This is one of the best I’ve purchased. Big things come in little packages! Everything is not what it seems and leaves you guessing.

GREAT MEDIEVAL ROMANCE

I have both Kindle and Audible editions of The Brat.

I can always count on Lynsay Sands for a great Medieval Romance. All of her books are really good.

King Edward has ordered his Goddaughter Lady Murie Somerdale to wed. Him and the Queen has been know to spoil her endlessly. The court thinks she is a Brat and use to getting her way. Murie is bought to court as the Kings Ward after her parents death as a very Young child. She was taunted and berated by the other ladies in the court. She learned to put defenses up once she met a real friend Lady Emilie. The two become very close friends and Emilie teaches her how to defend herself from the mean girls by Crying and Screaming in tears. LOL

The King and Queen love Murie and are very kind to her.

Lord Balan Gaynor has come to court accompanied by his cousin Osgoode. He needs to marry a very rich lady to bring Gaynor Castle and lands back up to its normally high standards. The Plague know as the Black Death has killed off most of Balan's tenants. Lots of castles and mass holdings throughout the land have gone to ruin and poverty because of the Black Plague.
Balan and Osgoode overhear a plot by Lord Malculinas and his sister Lauda to trick the Kings goddaughter Murie into marrying Malculinas. They set out to stop it.

Balan is the one who falls into the plot and Murie chooses him to marry.

Once married someone is trying to murder Balan. Murie is not having it. She thwarts every attempt made on his life. Murie is a wonderful young lady. She is No Brat at all. She is kind, intelligent and compassionate. Although bought up in a privilege lifestyle she is hardworking and intent on bringing her new home up to high standards.

Balan and Murie have one Hot erotic marriage. The story moves quickly. You sort know early on who the villain is but why is the wonder of it.

Great love story great secondary characters. I loved Osgoode. I hope he has a story. The only thing I wanted was and epilog to find out if Emilie and Reginald had there baby and if Balan and Murie had an heir.
