About this listen

This bundle includes the first three books in the Secret, Book, and Scone Society series.

In the first book of the series, The Secret, Book, and Scone Society, Nora Pennington forms the Secret, Book, and Scone Society. As they untangle a web of corruption, they discover their own courage, purpose, and a sisterhood that will carry them through every challenge—proving it’s never too late to turn the page and start over.

In the second book, The Whispered Word, Nora believes that a well-chosen novel can bring healing and hope. When a customer is found dead in an assumed suicide, she uncovers a shocking connection. But after a second death hits town, Nora and her intrepid friends must help the new greenhorn sheriff discern fact from fiction.

In the third book, The Book of Candlelight, Nora buys a bowl from Danny, a Cherokee potter. The next day, Danny’s body is found. Nora decides it’s time for the Secret, Book, and Scone Society to spring into action. A crucial clue may lie within the stone walls of the Inn of Mist and Roses.

The Best Book Bundle I have Ever Purchased

I wish I had started reviewing these books as I finished them. Alas, I did not, so you will only get snippets on the first two because I just now finished book three and my brain is thunderstruck.

The premise of this series is the story of four women who make their way to Miracle Springs. This town is renown for the healing qualities of the springs. Many people with physical or emotional hurts hope to find peace in this place. Four such women, total strangers to one another, meet and somehow understand that they can trust and rely on each other. It doesn’t happen fast. And it isn’t an easy process, but happens throughout the course of book one, The Secret, Book, and Society is born and a found family is created.

I love the way this author writes her characters, populates the townsfolk as being of different races. But the townsfolk aren’t hung up on the differences in their skin tone. In fact, we don’t learn the race of one of the women until book three. I LOVE how the author writes her characters.

Book 1, 5 ⭐️, is entitled The Secret, Book, and Scone Society. Four women work to help each other, and their town, while they work to overcome their own painful pasts. Please note that Chapter 6 has a plot that is suggestive and a bit risqué. I’d rate this chapter as being PG. One woman in our book club chose to reject the book when she realized the content of this chapter. I am proud of her for following her heart. I am sad that she missed this incredible story. Most of us were not offended by the chapter. However, you can easily skip this chapter, and read the rest of the book without losing anything important to the plot. I RATE THIS BOOK 5 STARS. It is more than a mystery, there are little bits of important life experiences that these characters have experienced. They work together to help each other find their own path toward the healing process.

Book 2, The Whispered Word, 5 ⭐️. Without giving away anything in book one, please know this story seamlessly picks up where book one ended. I honestly cannot tell you which book I liked best. Books 1 and 2 are, in my opinion, equally wonderful.

Book 3. The Book of Candlelight - 10 ⭐️ out of 5. Seriously, this book is incredible. This story starts with the death of a young Native American man and artist. Unfortunately, mc Nora, finds him dead at the beginning of the book. From there we are sucked into several plots, and even threatening actions against our four mc. This book felt like an epic drama in some ways.

I hope you will buy this book bundle (3 books for 1 credit!)

Not your typical “cozy”

I have been enjoying reading/listening Ellery Adams work. Her characters are often those that are needed to make changes in their lives. This series characters all have needed to move ahead from life changing mistakes they have made in their lives. Each of the characters in this series has needed to start over, Forgive themselves. Learn to trust. Take leaps of faith. Be vulnerable to others and let them in.
