Publisher's summary

"A high fantasy ride that will have readers on the edge of their seats cheering for the underdogs! Don't miss this Fae fantasy read, this one will have your heart racing, and left screaming for more." (Amelia Hutchins, number one international best-selling author of The Fae Chronicles and Nine Realms)

"If you love Sarah J Maas, or fae fantasy worlds in general, you need to read this book!" (SincerelyABibliophile)

Everything I knew died when the end of the world came. People dropped dead, and electricity vanished. Those who remained alive were never the same again.

While on the run with my boyfriend Tor across the desolate continent, the worst humanity had left attacked. Torn from the one I love, I boldly raced for help at the last human safe zone.

Only it’s not humans I found, but the Fae.

Now I have one month to rescue my boyfriend and release a savior princess from an onyx tomb or lose them both forever. A seemingly impossible task when Rune, a cursed, pain in the ass Fae warrior is assigned to train me. He's hellbent on freeing his beloved princess and I’m desperate to save Tor. But no matter how hard we snarl during training, we can’t stay away from each other.

I thought the worst thing that could happen to me was the apocalypse.

I was wrong.

A Fun Hybrid of Story Themes

Kelsey delivers a fantastic narration of Jessica's adventurous lighthearted romantic story! Beginning with a need to survive the post-apocalyptic Earth then destiny grips the protagonist and alters her reality by leading her into the Fae Realm. With her new reality, comes a new path she must decide to take or ignore. Both options have consequences, but what great story ends with our hero choosing the easy path? None worth remembering! Jessica Florence provides her readers with an abundance of entertaining characters whom easily play off of one another's attributes. A memorable fun story for all to enjoy!!! Now, I'm on to book two

So Freaking Amazing!

This story is so addicting!

I have listened to this twice now and each time I'm reminded of how amazing this world is.

I wasn't my own fae prince and to be lost in a fae kingdom.

The perfect blend of post apocalyptic, faeries, mythical creatures, romance and mystery.

Sapphira is the answer to it all. Falling into the whimsical world of the fae while escaping the desolate, dangerous human world she much rescue the Fae Princess Nix from the Onyx tomb she's been placed in, she much solve the mystery of how to get her out while discovering the secrets her boyfriend has kept from her in the human realm.

It was ok

Interesting storyline but very cliche dialogue and it has a very abrupt ending. Narrator forgets to switch tones for characters she's already established making for very awkward transitions.

Struggled with the story line

I felt like the beginning was a bit confusing so I struggled to get into the story. Made myself listen to the end so that I could find out how this story unfold.

Don't let the cover art fool you

This book was recommended to me through the algorithm. On the surface it looks good, the cover, the description, the 4 star review, BUT it's a trick. The dialogue is childish. The story seems like it could have been good but they rush all the relationships. The main character never questioned her situation, was just like cool, no worries, I'll do what you strangers tell me to do, risking my life all while you treat me like a servant. Not to mention the narrator always sounds uncertain and her tone never changes. Its awkward.
