About this listen

A dead biker. A missing aspiring writer. A life changing decision. In the first in the series, A Deadly Course, married couple Emily and Henry Fox move to Vermont seeking covered bridges and antique shops but instead find themselves knee deep in a murder investigation. Can the sleuthing doctor and true crime writer use their skills to bring peace back to Sugarbury Falls?

Murder of Course is the second clever cozy in the Sugarbury Falls Mystery series set in Vermont. A midnight knock by their neighbor stirs Henry and Emily into action. Who is the mystery dead girl on the rental cabin floor? Can they help solve the crime before the murderer strikes again?

In book 3, Clearing the Course, the Fox family returns from vacation to discover the town mourning the death of a college student. When their daughter’s friend is accused of the murder, married sleuths Henry and Emily Fox set out to prove his innocence, but the more they dig, the more doubts they have. Can they clear the tangled course of the investigation and find the truth before it’s too late?

This is the 8th book I’ve tried with virtual voice, and it will be the last. The lack of emotion is off putting and the mispronunciations drive me nuts! Hearing the word ‘read’ pronounced as ‘reed’ instead of ’red’ throws everything off. And they can’t get the virtual to recognize common abbreviations like OR, so someone is rushed to the ‘or’ instead of to the O R. Someone dials ‘nine eleven’ instead of 9 1 1. Lack of inflection and pauses in strange places throw off the meaning of a sentence and you have to rewind and listen again.

Seemed like descent stories but I’ll have to see if I can borrow paper copes from the library.

This would have been so much better if read by a human.

love the storyline but the voice simulator is awful. consider a different one next time. Also in this day and age somelines the negative racial slurs are are uncalled for and waaaay out of place in these story lones.

Great Story

The computer narration was hard to listen to. Hard to tell who was speaking at times.

The three storylines were all confusing the way they were read. I would not recommend these stories.

Story was good but I’m not a fan of virtual voice! The monotone voice gets on my nerves!

Virtual voice was poor at times with mispronunciation and poor infection making it hard to listen to in certain conversations.

Missing the human voice.

I almost didn’t listen because of the virtual read. Stuck it out and the story was good, but I’d rather have an actual person read

No more AI

Well done story, books flowed easily into the next book in the series, a very enjoyable read

having a virtual narrator ruins the story. expressionless voice disrupts the story. also, some of the words were misread. all in all, a disappointment because of the virtual narrator.

poor narrator

The story lines were alright but it seemed like a high school writing challenge. The writing was extremely predictable almost as if it was written by a child with phrases one would expect to hear in the given situation. This was narrated by AI but it was the worst AI I have heard. 911 spoken as 900 and 11, OBGYN sounded out as if read by a child along with many other inaccurate pronunciation. Editing was poor with multiple errors. For freenit was fine but not something I would recommend to a seasoned reader.

Very immature writung
