The cells in our bodies consist of molecules, made up of the same carbon, oxygen, and hydrogen atoms found in air and rocks. But molecules, such as water and sugar, are not alive. Hoffmann locates the answer to this age-old question at the nanoscale.

Regarded as one of the brightest young scientists of his generation, Lewis Dartnell proposes that the key to preserving civilization in an apocalyptic scenario is to provide a quickstart guide, adapted to cataclysmic circumstances. The Knowledge describes many of the modern technologies we employ, but first it explains the fundamentals upon which they are built. Story
Ignition! is the story of the search for a rocket propellant which could be trusted to take man into space. This search was a hazardous enterprise carried out by rival labs who worked against the known laws of nature, with no guarantee of success or safety. John Drury Clark writes with irreverent and eyewitness immediacy about the development of the explosive fuels strong enough to negate the relentless restraints of gravity. The resulting volume is as much a memoir as a work of history, sharing a behind-the-scenes view of an enterprise that eventually took men to the moon.

Story
In The Equations of Life, biologist Charles S. Cockell makes the forceful argument that the laws of physics narrowly constrain how life can evolve, making evolution's outcomes predictable. If we were to find something very much like a lady bug eating something very much like an aphid on a distant planet, we shouldn't be surprised. The forms of life are guided by a limited set of rules, and, as a result, there is a narrow set of solutions to the challenges of existence.

Story
Insects walk on water, snakes slither, and fish swim. Animals move with astounding grace, speed, and versatility: how do they do it, and what can we learn from them? In How to Walk on Water and Climb up Walls, David Hu takes listeners on an accessible, wondrous journey into the world of animal motion. From basement labs at MIT to the rain forests of Panama, Hu shows how animals have adapted and evolved to traverse their environments, taking advantage of physical laws with results that are startling and ingenious.

Infinite Powers recounts how calculus tantalized and thrilled its inventors, starting with its first glimmers in ancient Greece and bringing us right up to the discovery of gravitational waves. Strogatz reveals how this form of math rose to the challenges of each age: how to determine the area of a circle with only sand and a stick; how to explain why Mars goes "backwards" sometimes; how to turn the tide in the fight against AIDS.

Icy, rocky, sometimes dusty, always mysterious – comets and asteroids are among the Solar System's very oldest inhabitants, formed within a swirling cloud of gas and dust in the area of space that eventually hosted the Sun and its planets. Locked within each of these extra-terrestrial objects is the 4.6-billion-year wisdom of Solar System events, and by studying them at close quarters using spacecraft we can coerce them into revealing their closely-guarded secrets. This offers us the chance to answer some fundamental questions about our planet and its inhabitants.

Great for Self Study
Having a speaker guide you through topics and examples was something that really helped me. If a passage was dense, I just paused it and took notes- then resumed. An unintimidating approach.
This in combination with the ASVAB Test app feels like an ideal way to study. The audiobook and accompanying pdf gives a great introduction/reintroduction to topics. It’s only weakness is that some of the practice test material is a little easy. But if you take the audiobook knowledge to the ASVAB Test app (which poses questions more difficult than what’s in this audiobook’s practice quizzes) you can highlight where you may need more studying; where you might benefit from watching an auxiliary YouTube video or Khan academy lesson

Well-structured, comprehensive guide to ASVAB
I recently listened to the Complete Review & Test Prep for the ASVAB Exam audiobook, and I must say, I am thoroughly impressed. The narrator's voice and cadence were clear and easy to follow, making the listening experience enjoyable and engaging. The topics were presented in a logical and easy-to-understand manner, which helped me to retain the information more effectively. 🙂
One of the best things about this audiobook is that I could easily skip back to the clearly outlined passages to review any points that I needed to without any hassle! The structure of the audiobook was well-organized and intuitive, which allowed me to focus on the material without getting lost or overwhelmed.
I highly recommend this audiobook to anyone looking to prepare for the ASVAB. It is a well-structured and comprehensive resource that is easy to follow and provides a wealth of valuable information. I give it a solid 5 Stars!!!

A hidden gem of an audiobook
I had previously purchased two other ASVAB audiobooks, but this one was by FAR the most accurate and realistic compared with what's on the actual exam. I'm glad to say that by using this book I've seen a big improvement in my practice test scores - now I feel ready for the exam. It's also up-to-date, which I can't say for the others.
