Redemption thy name is Dixie

I enjoyed the childhood sweetheart reunion in this story. The chemistry was phenominal and I loved the fact that their friend arranged their reunion. This is a very P.S. I love you worthy story.

A story more about forgiveness

This was a real good book. The character Dixie is coming home but was really bad to the people she grew up with. Now she has changed and wants forgiveness and tries to right her past wrongs. This is most of the story which I felt was really good. I was able to identify with the protagonist and follow a flowing story. Great work and I laugh at a lot of the jokes. Dixie and Cane are a little on the exhibitionist side. They always seem to get caught in the book.

It's not a comedy, but it is a great story.

I originally bought this title because I was looking for a funny romance. Humor is pretty subjective, but I didn't feel like this book was especially light or funny. Talk Dirty to Me is an emotional story about two people who were once engaged, who are brought back to the same town after their mutual childhood friend died. Our heroine is trying to rebuild a life she destroyed herself after years of meanness and bad decisions; our hero is trying to make sense of the woman who left him long ago. The writing is solid and the narrator does a great job and it's totally worth reading, but it is a serious book with a few amusing moments, not a comedy.

Must read!

From beginning to end I was completely captivated. This character-driven story was engrossing I almost forgot it was a book and not real life or a movie. I could so easily imagine the people as the moved through each scene. Luella and her minions with their false smiles and proper breeding dripping with venom to the ladies from the phone sex call center with their grit and honestly we're a wonderful backdrop to Caine and Dixie's rollercoaster contest and relationship. Heck, I could easily picture Landon up in heaven looking down on his best friends sometimes with amusement and others times with despair, but always with love.

I laughed, cried a tear or two, sighed, and shook my head right alongside Landon at some of the goings-on in Plum Orchard.

I highly recommend this to anyone who loves a good 'ol southern romance. I can't wait to listen to the next book in this series.

Dixie Mean Girl

I thought this story about Dixie, a former mean girl, returning to her hometown might have potential. I was wrong. Dixie had been a one woman bullying machine, taking great delight in hurting everyone she met growing up.

Since no real reason was ever given for Dixie's sadistic behavior, I just couldn't buy her change into a caring, compassionate adult. Yes, we are do stupid things are teens but normally not with such venom, unless provoked.

So, I got bored and stopped listening. Life is too short.....
