Captain Corbin Jones heads his own Paranormal Security and Intelligence Agency Special Ops team. He's used to being in command. Used to having to make the tough calls. As a lionshifter, he's no stranger to fighting his primal instincts. He's had them well in hand for most of his immortally long life - that is, until he catches a scent that sets his body on fire.
The scent of his mate.
Mae wasn't looking for love and certainly didn't want to go on a blind date. When she's stood up and grabbed instead by madmen who want to use her to breed other supernaturals, she's not sure who to trust. Not even when the very same man she's been fantasizing about is deposited next to her. Fate - and her own supernatural hormones - won't be denied, and she finds she can't control the desire burning through her. The only problem is, her fantasy man, the very man who came to rescue her, is now a prisoner too.

I am an addict to these books and once more the author didn't disappoint at all.
Its been some time since i last read any of Mandy M Roths books and i have to say i missed it.
Despite the fact that this book was less funny that the others i remember i can tell you it doesn't miss anything in intensity chemistry,Alpha males and bombs going off!!!
The narrator does the series justice and brings the character to life!
Its so amazing!
A great addition to the series that if you haven't read you should!
love it

Fast forward. The team wanted to rescue some supernaturals on the block for sale to unscrupulous people. When Corbin finds out one of them is the woman he'd stood up, he is devastated. Even more so when it seems she is more to him. Not willing to admit what.
Will they be on time to save the captives?
I read the book quite a while ago. Listening brought back fun memories and the excitement of the mission and mate-finding journey. To see such a controlled man lose it was well done. The comic relief, Striker and his mother, was funny all over again. You will love the eyebrow artist.
Well done. A four to the narration as the Brittish accent slipped a few times. Did not distract from the book or story at all though.
Another Ops book. Another great read/listen.

Any additional comments?
I found the story fun and enjoyable enough but while reading I found myself wanting more. Half of the book was spent on the characters being apart, dressing up or contemplating life.Corbin and Mae were set on a blind date by their mothers. They are attracted to each other without knowing who they are.Corbin backs out and uses the impeding op to send Mae a message to cancel. Mae is kidnapped and kept in a facility.Eventually Corbin figures out Mae is his mate, looks for her, finds her and they mate.
Corbin remembered Jane and her daughter from an Op that happened 20+ years ago. The circumstances point that Mae is Jane daughter but nothing is being clarified.
This story has tragic and fun and all between.
