Publisher's summary

He's addicted to booze. She's addicted to sex... staying sober is only half the battle. No. More. Sex. Those are the three words Lily Calloway fears the most. But Loren Hale is determined to be with Lily without enabling her dangerous compulsions. With their new living situation - sleeping in the same bed, for real, together - Lily has new battles. Like not jumping Lo's bones every night. Not being consumed by sex and his body. Loren plans to stay sober, to right all of his wrongs. So when someone threatens to expose Lily's secret to her family and the public, he promises that he'll do anything to protect her. But with old enemies surfacing, Lo has more at stake than his sobriety. They will torment Lily until Lo breaks. And his worst fear isn't relapsing. He hears the end. He sees it. The one thing that could change everything. Just three words. No. More. Us.

For the most fulfilling listening experience, the Calloway Sisters series should be listened to along with the Addicted series.

Addicted for Now

Lily and Lo have come so far in their journey against addiction. Rose, Connor, and Ryke have become the support system and friends they have always needed. Erin Mallon and Charles Carr did a fantastic job narrating these characters.

Mixed feelings - not my fav of the series

While a lot of progress happens for Lily & Lo & Co in this book, it is my least favorite so far. I drifted away from the story at several places. I’m not sure if it’s because I’m taking in all the books at once or if this book was just more tedious for me than the others but I would suggest new-to-these-authors readers start elsewhere.

Steam: low steam factor but a lot lot lot of awkwardly talking about mostly boring sex. Lily’s sex addiction males most of the sex scenes range from cringeworthy to unsexy. I suppose self-love was a less annoying word than masturbation but it got on my nerves about the 80th time it came up.

While I appreciate the authors trying to tackle the difference between an addiction to something one can/should avoid vs an addiction to a behavior that is a normal part of life, I needed a scene where Lily & either Lo, her sister, or her therapist explicitly address her anxiety. Yeah, she has issues with her mom, but the anxiety is RIGHT THERE ALL THE TIME and while Lily finally thinks about it occasionally, as a reader, I needed the social anxiety addressed more strongly than it was.

Despite being more drawn to the book/action/plot/growth in the last third of the book, I was annoyed like crazy that Lo apparently came up with his business idea without Lily’s input. They have done nearly everything together since they were 7, but the business idea is his alone? Even though it is designed around their mutual desires, it treats Lily like a trophy, not a partner. In a similar vein, while Lo apologizes for harming someone in the past, someone apologizes to Lo instead of to Lily, who was the more directly/strongly affected, and was there. What the heck??? (spoilerish: And the peace offering? Horrible decision to vouch for someone who would terrorize a young woman - that jerk’s bad actions were NOT all back in high school. Blechk. The apology given by Lo was correct, but the amends offered were not the way to go.)

I was also bothered by how several characters talked about “real” parents instead of “birth” parents despite nearly all of them finally getting much needed therapy and knowing at least one person who could course correct that destructive/magical thinking. It was really grating. At least Lo (minor spoiler) gave up his mom directed anger, mostly. But he might need more therapy for that too.

I like the later series about the kids more than this one. That is like one romance and 2 extended & fun epilogues. This is a slow, plodding path to get to where Lo’s therapist indicated: privilege & money don’t mean you don’t have problems & pain. Privilege & money mean you can do something about your problems & pain. This book (mostly) ended on a good note but this particular installment was more of a problematic slog for me. I’m still going to try out the next book.

I rather liked the audio narrators.

Wow. What an amazing book!

The twist and turns are nothing like I would have predicted. A combination of Love, lust, terror, hate, Heartbreak and family. Better than book one.
