Story
Regarded as one of the brightest young scientists of his generation, Lewis Dartnell proposes that the key to preserving civilization in an apocalyptic scenario is to provide a quickstart guide, adapted to cataclysmic circumstances. The Knowledge describes many of the modern technologies we employ, but first it explains the fundamentals upon which they are built. The Knowledge is a brilliantly original guide to the fundamentals of science and how it built our modern world as well as a thought experiment about the very idea of scientific knowledge itself.

We are living through the most prosperous age in all of human history, yet we are listless, divided, and miserable. Wealth and comfort are unparalleled, but our political landscape is unmoored, and rates of suicide, loneliness, and chronic illness continue to skyrocket. How do we explain the gap between these truths? And how should we respond? For evolutionary biologists Heather Heying and Bret Weinstein, the cause of our troubles is clear: The accelerating rate of change in the modern world has outstripped the capacity of our brains and bodies to adapt.

better than I expected
I remember Dave Canterbury from the TV show Dual Survivor. I liked him then but you never really know when you're watching something on video how much has been edited or what the person really knows. After reading the book I was very impressed. He's not all gung-ho like Bear Grylls. don't get me wrong Bear Grylls could probably survive anywhere anything anytime but it doesn't apply to 99% of the population and what we are capable of. I thought it was a very well written book and I've learned a lot

Informative, detailed, and a pleasurable listen (rarely the case with title narrated by the author. If only Canterbury’s short Bushcraft titles where consolidated into a single work, I wouldn’t have to blow five of my 12 annual credits to listen to them all.

Don't judge a book by its cover, goes both ways.
My definition of advanced must be different than Canterbury's. All the material is quickly glossed over and nothing is thoroughly explained. It feels like the book was compiled from a bunch of google searches of bushcraft, then reworded like a high schooler would do a plagiarized book report, to make it seem like it's in their own words. Don't waste a credit.
