That’s why it’s no surprise that survival literature is so popular, and that the stories in the genre are so diverse.

There was a lot of useful info in the book, including some I'd never heard of. The writing shines, though, given the topic, and is engaging enough (unlike Army FMs) to hold a younger reader's interest.

I recently reviewed the second book Advanced Bushcraft and I love that one as well. I learned a lot more than I thought I would from reading a book by a guy I saw on Discovery Channel who was supposed to know a lot about survival. You never know what you're going to get. but it didn't take long to figure out this guy's the real deal. I've been reading survival books for 20 years and with good ones like this you always learn a few things you had never thought of which always helps to go into the storage data of the Mind.

great for the basics
