About this listen
A hands-on, practical survival guide from retired Navy SEAL Clint Emerson - adapted for civilians from actual special forces operations - to eluding pursuers, evading capture, and surviving any dangerous situation.
In today's increasingly dangerous world, threats to your personal safety are everywhere. From acts of terror to mass shootings, and from the unseen (and sometimes virtual) matrix of everyday crime, danger is no longer confined to dark alleys or unstable regions. Potentially life-threatening circumstances can arise anywhere, anytime, and Clint Emerson - former Navy SEAL - wants you to be prepared.
100 Deadly Skills contains proven self-defense skills, evasion tactics, and immobilizing maneuvers - modified from the world of black ops - to help you take action in numerous "worst case" scenarios from escaping a locked trunk to making an improvised Taser to tricking facial recognition software. With easy-to-understand instructions, Emerson outlines in detail many life-saving strategies and teaches you how to think and act like a member of the special forces.
This complete course in survival teaches you how to prevent tracking, evade a kidnapping, elude an active shooter, rappel down the side of a building, immobilize a bad guy, protect yourself against cybercriminals, and much more - all using low-tech to no-tech methods. Clear, detailed, and presented in an easy-to-understand and execute format, 100 Deadly Skills is an invaluable resource. Because let's face it, when danger is imminent, you don't have time for complicated instructions.

Only a small fraction of the information is useful
The synopsis of the book claims it is geared towards helping regular civilians be able to survive any dangerous situation. However, about 80% of the book is about skills that are valuable only if you are actually a clandestine operative of some kind. While I like to imagine I am James Bond sometimes, I'm really just an average guy. Skill: learn how to jump out of a moving helicopter into water in order to gain access to a foreign county.... yeah, probably not going to do that next time I go on vacation. Skill: burn a body in a barrel of jet fuel.... ummmm. The book is a fun listen if you like learning about spy stuff, but there is not to much to be gained in terms of actual real world information for civilians looking to be prepared to survive an emergency situation.

Survival
Would you consider the audio edition of 100 Deadly Skills to be better than the print version?
No. For riding in the car and time constraints audio better but many illustrations are needed to see what the reading is describing. I have both.
If you’ve listened to books by Clint Emerson before, how does this one compare?
No. N/A
What about Pete Simonelli’s performance did you like?
He reads well.
What’s an idea from the book that you will remember?
Many. Thinking outside the box to survive.
Any additional comments?
Thanks.

Birds eye view of the topics
if you are looking for in-depth explanation of these skills, keep looking. if you want to know generally what topic and a basic outline of what maneuver, ploy, plot, technique or other action to take in the event you encounter the scenario, this is a good place to start. Each one will require your own level of study elsewhere, investigating and researching the techniques and end up deployment or execution of whatever you come up with..
