Katie and Heather serve up a plethora of anecdotes, experiential tidbits, and in-depth research pertinent to all things backpacking. While this book is oriented to long-distance hikers, it contains invaluable lessons for day hikers and LASHers as well as those planning to thru-hike multi-week or multi-month expeditions. This book will enable you to prepare yourself mentally, physically, and nutritionally, and set you on the path for success - the only thing left is to take the first step!
