About this listen

When Aida Mitchell learns her intended groom plans to cheat on her after their marriage, she runs away on their wedding day. Finding an advertisement for a man wanting a wife, she travels to Great Pond Texas, only to find the man is a horrible drunk. She runs again, but not as far this time.

When Ethan Wood finds her, he convinces her to come to his uncle and aunt’s ranch. She feels welcome there, but the family is not without its problems, and she doesn’t think they treat their nephew right. She likes Ethan, but after two failed attempts at marriage, wouldn't it be best if she stayed away from any serious relationships?

Sweet and Clean

What a heartbreaking blow to hear your groom, on your wedding day, proclaim his love to another woman just before he is to take you as wife! Aida just runs away from it all. She hadn't been sure about the marriage to begin with and now she knows she cannot marry this man. She decides to go west as a mail order bride, but she has some less than happy experiences with that. However, God had a plan and that is the sweet story of Aida. I think I liked this book even more than I expected. It has a new approach; different from the last few books in this series. I like that I can always count on a sweet, clean adventure from this author. Looking forward to the next audiobook!

The narrator performed very well, which always makes a good listen.

Loved this!

I loved this book! Love, trust, kindness, suspense, faith... it's all in here. Aida runs off instead of marrying her betrothed only to find herself in another situation that she wasn't going to follow thru with either. You need to read/listen, you will find it isn't just another run away bride book.

I thought the narrative was well done on this book.

A sweet story

Aida narrowly escaped a bad marriage. She answered a mail order bride ad and made her escape to Texas. When she saw the drunk man that met her, she ran again. She was hesitant to trust anyone. Who could blame her? I liked listening to this story, and the narrator, E.J.Lavery, did a good job

Staying True tonLove

I really enjoyed listening to this book. Narrator was wonderful and a great storyline. Aida finds out on her wedding day, that her fiance has been cheating on her all along. She takes the dowry money and her bags and grabs the first train out of Wilmington. She knows she must be careful and sees an ad in the papers, for a mail order bride in Texas. Far enough away from her parents and the life they wanted for her. Once she arrives in Texas, she finds her intended is a drunken old man. How has her life gotten so bad. She is befriended, by a cowboy named Ethan. Can she trust another man or will she constantly have bad luck. Once at Ethan's Aunt and Uncle' s ranch, she finds his cousin Hayden. Here we go again. What bad luck she has. Follow her troubles and maybe love might happen. Loved it!
