Publisher's summary

A 75th anniversary keepsake volume of the most important and practical self-help book ever written, Alcoholics Anonymous.

Here is a special deluxe edition of a book that has changed millions of lives and launched the modern recovery movement: Alcoholics Anonymous.

This edition not only reproduces the original 1939 text of Alcoholics Anonymous, but as a special bonus features the complete 1941 Saturday Evening Post article “Alcoholics Anonymous” by journalist Jack Alexander, which, at the time, did as much as the book itself to introduce millions of seekers to AA’s program.

Alcoholics Anonymous has touched and transformed myriad lives, and finally appears in a volume that honors its posterity and impact.

Fascinating, Introspective stories, & Great Voice

An honest, sincere, greatly brilliant, intense, old fashioned meditation, on religion, spirituality, & the personal, medical, & emotional problems, that are caused, by alcohol.

Blossom

What a joy to be able to listen to the Big Book. Over the years I have not been reading the book as often as I should. I had no problems with the narrating of the book. I do not care if the reader is alcoholic or not, nor do I care if the reading was done perfectly. Was able to listen to the book in three days, stories and all. By having the book on audible, I will probably listen to it every week or two. Was nice to hear the stories also. Will not listen to those that often, I know a part of me is in each one of them. Next time I will listen and read at the same time, then just listen.

Life Changing! Read this, Over and Over!!!

This is the Original and has the "dated" original stories in the reading, however, they are good perspectives on an age-old "problem".

If you wish to give up drinking or love someone who is "drinking", this is The Book (also get the 4th edition in print to work from and for more modern stories). As someone who is sober, this was a nice addition to my learning. (note, I have read the 4th edition and made notes in the margin and highlighted passages of that book)

Highly recommended!!!

Love This Book!

If you could sum up Alcoholics Anonymous Deluxe Edition in three words, what would they be?

Accurate! Current! Inspiring!

What did you like best about this story?

Accurate insight to how the Alcoholics mind works and how to better it.

Which character – as performed by Mitch Horowitz – was your favorite?

On point! Easy to listen to.

What’s an idea from the book that you will remember?

Acceptance... Letting go! Practicing these principals in all our affairs.... So true, and it does work if you work it. You can recover. An addict will always be but you can work to change your behaviors to stay in recovery.

Any additional comments?

Not just for Alcoholics, this will work for addicts of all types, smoking, food, pills, etc., anything that can consume the obsessive mind. Very powerful.

Unbelievable, empowering, source of truth...

There are several descriptive words that surface for me when I think about this book:

Raw
Inspired
Courageous
Truth
Timeless
Humbling
Spiritual
Wisdom
Precious

While containing the inspired truth & wisdom of scripture, this book has the unique ability to match the knowledge level of the reader & keep everyone engaged at all levels...
I found new truth & new perspective each time I have listened.
"By their fruits ye shall know them..."
I am in complete awe at the first 100 men who hacked a pathway out of the untrodden wilderness for others to follow. Looking for nothing more in return than to provide an opportunity to "those who still suffer".
Unmatched level of selfless truth, experience, strength & HOPE!
