Sixteen-year-old space commander Sal is once again leading his minions into glorious battle when he encounters Princess Hatari, who seeks his help in gaining her rightful planetary throne! This is a nice sci-fi adventure/satire told with wit and verve, which can be appreciated as a rollicking space yarn, a humor piece or both. There are amusing allusions to several sci-fi classics, including Star Wars and Enders Game. Well paced and enjoyable throughout, the narrator does this short work justice. Recommended.

Very Enjoyable Sci-Fi Adventure/Satire!

What disappointed you about Alien StarSwarm?

I read a lot of Robert Sheckley when I was younger and always remembered enjoying his sense of humor. So I was actually excited to hear this. Sadly, it reads like it was written by a teenager in the '50's. Remember when girls were kind of icky. Yeah. The robot sounds like he should be smoking a cigar.

What could Robert Sheckley have done to make this a more enjoyable book for you?

Not sure. It's largely a pretty lame story that I don't think would even get printed today.

Would you be willing to try another one of Jonathan Waters’s performances?

Uh, no.

Laughably bad - teenage fan fiction
