About this listen

They hunt us. They bomb our worlds for target practice.

A star cluster in the constellation of Orion rotates once every 1,000 years. Those who rule there have an ancient tradition: When each cycle ends, they train their fleets by spilling the blood of lesser beings.

The enemy fleets are coming again. In response, the Rebel Worlds gather their starships to face the terrifying threat, and this time humanity is asked to stand with them.

The last time they considered Earth, Vikings in longboats were raiding English coastlines. Today, we're less primitive. Today, we're a target.

One man is chosen to command Earth's single ship in the Rebel Fleet. When the war breaks out, Leo Blake must win it...or die trying.

"Classic B. V. Larson. This book grabs you by the plasma cannon and won't let go. Fast adventure, fast action - and I loved the space-battles!" - S. Arthur

Swarm series all over again

Larson is getting in abut by of a rut. He excels at world building but the overall premise is just too similar. Aliens enlisting us to fight their war is the central theme of two other series that I know of that he has written. The book was entertaining but I couldn't shake the feeling I had been here before.
Side note: he has utterly no depth to female characters. They only want to be arm candy for some overly testosterone juiced protagonist. It gets tiresome.

Non-stop action, good story.

This book is basically the same as Swarm, Star Force Book 1. Different crew and slightly different story but, basically the same. Well written and performed. I enjoyed this very much and look forward to the next book.

A different and enjoyable action space opera.

At the beginning I wasn't too sure if I was going to like the story. There was a lot of action, but the plot seemed to movie a bit slow. Then it shifted gears, and the plot started to gel. I ended up throughly enjoying the story due to it being very different from your normal action space drama. Enjoyable main protagonist. I have the second book in the series already on order, but have to wait until the end of February before Audible releases it. This I don't understand, since the club is owned by Amazon who already has the next audio book out for purchase. I highly recommend this story and author.

A winner in every way

Among the SciFi/fantasy writers Larson must stand tall. Every sentence is well crafted and every storyline is engaging. Rebel Fleet is no exception, a reall winner in the story and writing departments. Mark Boyer fills his vocal characterizations with emotion, variety, and clarity. A winning performance.

Another great series from Larson

I wonder about the mind of the author. His lead characters are always excellent bullsh*ters.

Soup for scifi nerds...

Fun story in the vain of Larson's other stories. Basically boils down to an athletic guy who is quick on his feet, good BSer, and good with the ladies. All set to the backdrop of exploring an unfriendly universe. Boyett is the narrator, and is good as usual (which is to say excellent). I give this a thumbs up and worth a credit.
