When Laney Carrigan sets out to find her birth family, her only clue is the Hawaiian quilt - a red rose snowflake appliquéd on a white background - in which she was found wrapped as an infant. Centering her search on the Big Island and battling fears of rejection, Laney begins a painstaking journey toward her true heritage. Kai Barnes, however, is determined to protect the people he's come to regard as family. He thinks Laney is nothing more than a gold digger and blocks every move she makes toward her Hawaiian family. As their conflict escalates, it puts at risk the one thing that Kai and Laney both want most - a family.

Cute story

I enjoyed a multi generational family working together and living and loving each other even when it is difficult. (Adoption of broken kids, dementia, PTSD, sexual sin, drug use, remarried parents, harsh parental judgement, brokenness, death of loved ones, wounded warriors, etc.)
I am a military brat from Hawaii and was looking for a Christian fiction to meet some of my nostalgia needs for I am missing my Hawaii. I am also a person who works in the disability field and if you were looking for accessable text, than this is better than a computerized voice. If you are looking for a theatrical production of this novel, than this is not it.
The Hawaiian is mispronounced and that was hard to hear. I was also hard for an adopted white kid to teach the actual 1/2 Hawaiian girl, what it means to be a "real" Hawaiian. Maybe a bit more of cultural research needed to be done to be more authentic.
My suggestion to the person who decided and will decide who gets to be a reader for Audible: Please be more culturally sensitive.
In that, when reading multicultural characters, which use native language, have your reader do some research on how to say the words correctly. Or if possible, please use a native speaker of the language.
Good message and sweet story

To the story so it was pretty relevant. I heard a
Couple word mispronunciations but the narrator was so much better than many that I still gave her five stars. Will be recommending this one.
Good story overall…

Beautiful story

The narrator improved much over the last book. There is still room for improvement with the characters' voices, particularly mens', and her acting could have been more intense during the most dramatic parts.
Loved It!
