I loved all three books. By the end I felt like I'd watched all the birthday children grow up as if I knew them. I cried so many times at the end out of sadness and pride for so many of the characters. It has been a long time since I've read a book that pulled on my emotions like that

Thank you Scott Sigler

What did you love best about Alone?

I loved this story and the whole series.I have loved everything that I have listened to from Scott Sigler. The Siglerverse continues to unfold.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

I only listen to books in my car, that would be a long drive

Any additional comments?

I love A Real Girl but it took a while to get into the story. Not that she did a bad narration.I think that I was so accustomed to hearing her on story smack and other podcasts that my mind took a little while to accept her in this performance.A couple chapters into the story and I really really enjoyed it.

5 stars to Scott Sigler! Great story

The third book keeps you engrossed just like the first two. I understand why the author decided to switch narrators, but found her to be distracting. I think the sudden accents, voice changes, and sounds effects took away from the story and really wish I would've read it instead of listening to it. If this doesn't bother you or you can get passed it, the story is well worth it!

great 3rd book

The narration was Absolutely terrible AB Kovacs was not the best choice. She pronounced names all wrong and her voices were terrible. She read slow and soooo monotoned it was so hard to be interested. I even sped up the reading to 3.0 and qnd it was still bad.

I still loved the story though!

Poor Narrator. GREAT story

The reader of the first two books in the series was great. This reader apparently did not listen to that reader at all. She pronounces names differently, in a way that is grating. She has also made most of the male characters sound like stoned surfer dudes. That is ridiculous. She gave accents to some of the other characters, like Spingate. They were born at the age of 12 and did not have exposure to accents in their environment, so why would she suddenly sound British?

I understand the writers idea about making the last reader older and less childlike in her approach to things, but some continuity would have made this story easier to listen to. Every time I hear her mispronounce the name of their world, or Gaston, I cringe.

The only other thing that I have a problem with is the inconsistency of Em's character. At one point, she said that she was glad that Kevin was born without an emblem on his head, so that he can be whoever he chooses to be. But she consistently talks about the emblems on the other characters foreheads, "so and so, a circle-star," and so on.

This reader makes this story awful

For those of you, like me, who hates the new narrator, listening at 1.25 speed fixes this problem so much!! I still wish they had kept the previous narrator, but I can actually listen to her now without groaning.

LISTEN AT 1.25 SPEED!!!

What a great series! Book 3 is a bit more emotional than the other 2 books, especially toward the end. We get a lot more of Em's history or Matilda's I should say. They discover Omeyocan's secrets and learn about their God. NOT what they were expecting! Book 3 took an awesome twist I just wasn't expecting! As always, Scott Sigler does not disappoint! He is one of only 2 authors I buy without even reading the book description. I have no doubt it will be good!

AB Kovacs does a good job with the narration. I was very disappointed that Scott changed narrators in the middle of the series. He says he wanted the characters to sound older and more mature. I'm assuming there were other reasons. That is very unfortunate. Kovacs was good but I had to adjust to her style. The pronunciations were very different from the original narrator and several characters now have accents that they didn't have before. Very confusing at first. Any narrator that jumps in mid series should definitely listen to the previous books to get a feel for each of the characters, their accents, and pronunciations. Other than that, she did a great job.

Loved the series!

I didn't have a problem with the narrator, once I bumped up the speed. She probably should have done the whole series, for consistency sake. Definitely not the ending I was expecting.

Listen at 1.10x speed. Pretty good finale
