About this listen
Amends, Apologies, and the Myths of Forgiveness is a guide to the 12-step "amends" process and is intended to help recovering addicts navigate the eighth and ninth steps. Maybe even more than the fourth step moral inventory, the eighth and ninth steps - the process of going to the people we have harmed and offering amends for our misdeeds - can bring the recovery journey to a grinding halt. "How can I face the people I've wronged?" "How can I make amends for some of the things I've done?" "What if someone won't accept my amends?" "What if making amends will get me in trouble?"
Amends, Apologies, and the Myths of Forgiveness is dedicated to the belief that the amends process, while challenging, is doable. This booklet contains a wealth of guidelines, insights, and suggestions to help the recovering addict receive the gifts of this part of the path to sanity and wholeness.

Story
Blindsided by a breakup, and asking herself the usual why, how, what questions, Tatiana Jerome went online. She used social media as a way to uplift and empower herself by venting but also working through her own part in the relationship's demise. Her posts struck a chord with thousands and then hundreds of thousands of readers - no surprise since most relationships (approximately 85 percent) end.

Story
When you really care about someone, it’s easy to get stuck in painful, even destructive patterns - caving in to a spouse’s manipulation, ignoring a live-at-home son’s irresponsibility, not confronting a friend’s addiction. We excuse people again and again, and then kick ourselves for not setting better boundaries. But this important audiobook, with its transformational tools from leading Christian counselor Tim Clinton and noted author Pat Springle, will guide you in not only breaking through to better relationships but making big changes for the better.

Story
Bonds That Make Us Free is a groundbreaking book that suggests the remedy for our troubling emotions by addressing their root causes. You'll learn how, in ways we scarcely suspect, we are responsible for feelings like anger, envy, and insecurity that we have blamed on others. Even though we fear to admit this, it is good news. If we produce these emotions, it falls within our power to stop them. But we have to understand our part in them far better than we do, and that is what this remarkable book teaches.

Story
Until now, we have been taught that forgiveness is good for us and that good people forgive. Dr. Spring, a gifted therapist and the award-winning author of After the Affair, proposes a radical, life-affirming alternative that lets us overcome the corrosive effects of hate and get on with our lives - without forgiving. She also offers a powerful and unconventional model for genuine forgiveness - one that asks as much of the offender as it does of us.
