Unfortunate

Such amazing and helpful material narrated very poorly. Bummer.
Sad to think people won’t listen because the narrator’s voice and cadence are so grating.

A Must-read for Adult Children

I learned so much about why I do the things I do or feel the way I feel…I’m not broken, I just need ACA! -Christine Nicholson

Audio Book supports 12 step study.

Aloha! Listening to audio book while reading the book supports my learning style. A meeting I attend uses it to listen to during meeting. Helps allow the reading time of meeting because not everyone has books yet.

Meh

Too bad the chapters aren't labeled and organized better. If this is based on page numbers it would have been nice to be provided a pdf. The delivery was at times forced sounding, but wasn't too bad when I set the speed to .9
I felt like the content was a disorganized jumble of other 12 step ideas, stories, and of course the much touted laundry list. still, it was interesting and helpful, especially for someone already interested in recovery. I think if the chapters were clearly labeled I could have gotten a lot more out of the vast material.

Very Helpful

What made the experience of listening to Adult Children of Alcoholics/Dysfunctional Families the most enjoyable?

I really loved that an audiobook version of this book was available. It is a really long book and it's hard for me to find the time to read. I can listen while I am at work and that's what works for me.

What did you like best about this story?

It was really great at helping me understand why I am the way that I am.

What about Adult Children of Alcoholics/Dysfunctional Families’s performance did you like?

The book was done well with no long pauses or errors.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

I would have liked to but it is way to long to do that.

Any additional comments?

I would highly recommend this book for anyone interested in the topic

Incredible Book and Godsend to Emotional Sobriety

I’ve been working on and off in my drug of choice recovery in twelve step program for over 18 years and hadn’t heard of this until now. What a blessing this program is now and since I’m an audible learner it helps me to listen to the book since it’s so massive while I drive for work. Readers please realize this is a all in one book for a 12 step recovery book, so it’s to be read like a novel, or self help book. So for all of the whiners who say it’s intolerable to listen to, take a step back and realize you’re probably not ready for its gifts and knowledge yet. One day when you are, the reader’s voice won’t matter so much anymore. For this who want healing this book and any voice reading it, is a tremendous gift and blessing! Thanks to the writers and readers. - James M. DENVER, CO

snooze alert. skip past chapter 17

17 chapters of accreditations....ZZZ zz 😴 took way to long to get to the meat and potatoes of this book. By the time it got into it I had lost interest and it made it very hard to listen to.
