Not worth the credit

This is a extraordinary hard listen. After numerous restarts I managed maybe 9 chapters. I skipped through the rest. Would not recommend.

Meh

Too much sex to story. Storyline had potential but lacked development. Sex seemed to lack romance. I thought narrator was fine. I just always speed her up.

Liked the story, not the male voice the narrator tried to do

I really like the story and I like the narrator’s overall story voice but I just did not like how she voiced Marcus. It was somewhat of a distraction to the story.

Not Bad, Not Great

The conflict of the story was interesting, but I felt that there could be a lot more intricacies added. It was just a bit flat.

Now, the romance was a bit too easy. I prefer a little more of a chase.

If I continue with the series, I'll get book #2 from the library.

Great Story

I was not sure about this author, as her previous series had some good & bad about the trilogy. I am so glad that I took a chance, as this novel is really great.
I loved both main characters..and all the others introduced in this new series. The heroine is strong, smart and mature. She evolves through the book and has a great moment of self-awareness, that is rare in a romantic heroine. It was a scene that touched me with it's honesty. I loved that the h/h grew and their relationship was so organic that I could understand and appreciate their love story. I like it when a story makes sense and characters behave logically.
The story is very interesting as they try to solve the murder of the hero's sister. There is a complex resolution that keeps the reader involved to the end. There are also some surprises that keeps readers turning the page.
I am not a fan of the narrator, but she is growing on me, to the point where I don't avoid books she narrates. She does a good job here...and there are a lot of characters to voice!
I read this in one shot and could not stop. I am finished and am writing this at 2:30 am...so I must have really enjoyed it. I can't wait for the rest of the series. The hero's 2 best friends sound like they will be fun to get to know better.
