Great interview

Thanks, Audible for making interviews like this one with writers available for free. As a writer myself, I find them very encouraging.

A Few Unknowns Revealed About Macomber-It Was Free

Would you try another book from Beth Anderson and/or Beth Anderson?

No, her interview was fine but I did not care for her voice.

Any additional comments?

There is not a lot to comment on. This was a freebie from Audible. The 20 minute interview [most of which] is available/covered on Debbie Macomber's website.

The reality of hearing from an author can be disappointing but this was not the case. Debbie Macomber seems as nice and down to earth as I imagined

I would not recommend purchase it. However, it was a nice listen and I appreciate the gift, Audible. Thank you.

A Great Inside Look At Debbie Macomber!

I love Debbie Macomber’s books! To get a peep inside her writing style (and her audio book listening style) was so nice! It felt like she was talking only to me! Loved this snippet!

Getting to know the author...

Always nice to hear from the authors. What they go thru with characters, creating storylines and daily life... they don't always sit behind a typewriter, they've got lives too and it's nice to hear about them.

pretty good for free

I recently started watching the new TV series Cedar Cove. I've enjoyed it so far and think having Andie McDowell as the star is great. One of the things I do is when I see a TV show or movie that I like is that I will look and see who the author is then come to audible and see if the author is someone I want to try. In doing this about Debbie Macomber, whom I had never heard of, I saw this free 20 minute interview and decided to listen to it. I didn't realize until I started listening to the interview that it was from 2006, 7 years old but I listened anyway. I don't know that the interview will have me buying her books but it was interesting. I'm not a big romance novel fan, which her books are, but it was interesting that she says she writes her novels for women, that most romance novels are for women, maybe that's why I don't listen. I have listened to one romance novel by Nora Roberts and admit I really liked it. One interesting tidbit from the interview was that she loves audiobooks and while she reads non-fiction she listens to fiction, in fact, typically has one going in her kitchen, one in her bathroom, maybe one in the living room, and listens in her car. When her husband and she travel together they listen to books, usually of his choosing, and enjoy discussing them. My wife and I do this as well and have always enjoyed it, we used to read to each other while driving before getting hooked on audiobooks. We listened to the entire Harry Potter series while driving with our kids, it was great! Who knows, maybe I will listen to one of her books someday, as long as i can find one at least 10 hours long with a rating over 4.0!

Not moved to reading her novels

I have had many of her books recommended to me, but this interview really caused me to reconsider. I can't believe how many books she has written and I can't imagine anything with much depth. The interview didn't move me to pick up any of her novels. I had really hoped it would.

informative

Not a new interview. More than a few years old. Learned a few things about Debbie and her husband.

The lady sounds nice and all ... however ...

This book wasn’t for you, but who do you think might enjoy it more?

the recording was tinny and hurt my ears! It was free, so I didn't expect much, but I thought somewhere in the middle the bad recording frequency would get better. But it didn't.

You didn’t love this book... but did it have any redeeming qualities?

yes ... Debbie Macomber has always been an interesting character ... so the topic matter is what interested me. I just couldn't comfortably listen to this audio.

NW I' m a long standing fan since the Navy Series.

I have recently switched to mostly audio books because of cataracts. The books I have bought (example: Blossom Street Series) are just as enjoyable as their forefathers (or is that fore-mothers). One reason I always liked your books is that your characters appear to be real with the same fears & faults as we all have. I would love to see some of the older series be made available on Audio, if possible. Thank you for many relaxing hours of reading & now listening.
