Gets better as you go along...

This is such a great story of friendship and holding true to what really matters. It starts a little slow, but gets really good at the end! I can't wait to "read" the next one!!!!!

Better than the first book

This book was a little more enjoyable than the first book. It held my interest more and it got a little easier to not be distracted by the narrator.

Narration or Recording?

Would you listen to An Unexpected Love again? Why?

Probably not, but that is ONLY because I have so many, many other books I want to get through before I die. I thoroughly enjoyed listening to this book, and laughed out loud several times.

What was one of the most memorable moments of An Unexpected Love?

When Sophie realized what "love" really is.

What does Linda Stephens bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

Linda's narration was wonderful, as I was able to recognize voices of characters before they were identified. Although, I started realizing about half way through "Part 1" that the "s" sound was dropped off at the end of sentences, if the word should have ended with and "s" sound. It doesn't occur with in a sentence, though, so I wonder if it was the recording? It "distracted" me for the rest of the book, as I found myself "finishing" those words in my mind, but I still enjoyed her deliverance.

The strong bond shared by the three cousins.

Love this story and the series. Looking forward to the last book. Excellent stories. I just wish Uncle Jonas would get his comeuppance soon.

Tedious morality tale.

If you enjoy walking moment by moment through the characters' loss, pain, immaturity, and selfish decisions, followed by the entirely predictable and painful consequences, then this book is for you. Not escapist reading. The love of Christ shines through at the end, with healing and restoration. However, the characters are neither winsome nor likable during this refining process. I found the book excruciating, and skipped through much of it.

A real let down

I don’t know what was different about this series, but it did not hold a candle to her other books.
