About this listen

Gwen, Beth, and Lacy Gallatin fashion a life for themselves in the Montana wilds, operating a roadhouse that is located at the crossroads of two major stage lines. When their father is accidentally killed, the oldest sister, Gwen, reasons that she's cursed. After all, death seems to haunt her: her mother, now her father...and she was married for a mere ten days before her husband died from a bout of measles.

As Gwen and her sisters struggle to maintain the inn on their own, an unexpected visitor adds to the mayhem. Hank Bishop claims to be searching for something in the possession of Gwen's late husband. But mayhem of another sort builds in Gwen's heart as she finds a growing attraction to this man. Can she dare to hope that love might again be hers?

Wholesome and Uplifting

This book had really good character development and is an excellent example of how romance novels don't have to be explicit to be enjoyable. I am disappointed that the second book in the series is abridged, because I would much rather listen to the full story. I think I will check out the book from the library so that I don't miss anything. This is a very good series!

lineup of the chapters

while I love the story and I have the book as well on hardback. The chapters are a bit off from the book I like to read from the book while listening and the lineup of the chapters is off. I just finished chapter 2 of the audiobook and it's supposed to be chapter 4. I know I'm probably being it picky but I figured people should know. thank you for your time and I hope this feedback is helpful.

Got a bit tired of Gwen’s self-sabotage

Normally, I like this author’s books but this one just got to me. I got tired of how Gwen sabotaged her life repeatedly.

Romance & Intrigue

I really enjoyed this action packed & uplifting romance. It is full of mystery as well. Gwen is the main focus of the story along with her sisters as they face life on the fronteir without their parents.
I really enjoy reading Tracie Peterson's books and I love the fact that she always seems to write entire stories arround the scripture.

TRACY PETERSON AND BARBARA MCCHULLOH. WOW!

I really enjoyed this first book. I had this on my wish list and took it off three times before I finally got it. I am so glad that I listened to that inner voice that said, "Give it a chance!"

Good read overall

enjoyed the Gwen and Hank characters. Beth and Lucy were frustrating to listen to. fighting and whining but they grew up by the end of the book.
