About this listen

A new Southern Roots stand-alone...

Azalea Barnes has hated Drake Collins since the day he broke her teenage heart. Fast forward almost seven years later, and her libido still hasn't gotten the memo. Now they're frenemies...with benefits. Which suits Azalea just fine. She gets what her body craves while keeping her heart safe. Kind of. Mostly.

Drake has loved Azalea since the day they met. He knows that she's his forever. Too bad she sees him only as a good time. He wants more. Needs more. If only he could convince her that it's real this time. He's more determined than ever to prove to Azalea that chemistry like theirs doesn't exist only in the bedroom. The odds may be against Drake, but he's prepared for an uphill battle.

Immature couple

Where to begin..
Both the main characters were unlikable to me, both extremely immature. Azalea was a hot headed drama queen with trust issues. Drake was an idiot for not understanding why Azalea would get jealous and mad even purposefully plotting with other women to make her jealous knowing full well she was having issues. This wasn't romanic at all to me, it played out like immature high schoolers emotionally abusing and manipulating each other. The whole story is full of very easily avoided misunderstandings. Don't take any relationship advice from this book.. please lol
Narration was great.

I don’t know if y’all are ready for Drake and AzzyJo...

HOLY SON OF A NUN!
I’m not a fan of audiobooks unless I’m driving in the car alone for more than two hours.. but THIS. OMG THIS. I AM IN L-O-V-E.

These narrators kicked it out of the park!
Okay, so being able to listen to the two of them bicker is amazing.

And it makes me think of Sweet Home Alabama. You know, basically they can’t stand each other but they’re so on fire for one another... I didn’t ever want to stop listening to this.

No backbones

This story had me from the beginning. Halfway through this story, the heroine, misunderstanding or not, allowed the hero the treated her like the other woman. I love the banter and didn’t mind the back and forth. However, the h didn’t have backbones. Instead she apologized to him? Wow! The game they played was so immature. When they were ready to have the "talk" I lost interest for both and deleted an hour before the end. Also, he never stand up for her yet he loves her? It was so hard to connect with the main characters because the hero allowed his “ friends” steer him of bad decisions. I do not recommend this story.
