Editorial reviews

John J. Akar delivers a colorful, spirited performance of Gerald McDermott's sprightly and imaginative Anansi The Spider, a retelling of the traditional African folktale that finds the mischievous and clever Anansi conflicted as to which of his six sons to reward when they save him from Fish and Falcon after he embarks on a perilous journey.

This refreshing moral on the importance sharing, resourcefulness, and cooperation is as entertaining as it is enlightening, and children of all ages will be immediately drawn in by Akar's soothing and inviting voice in this delightful listen.

Great story

I love this story and have the book. I don't love the narrator, unfortunately, though.

Check Out Bobby Norfolk's Version of this Story!

This story is performed also by the amazing storyteller, Bobby Norfolk on "Norfolk Tales." My children (4&6) adore him. He brings this and many other tales to life in an extremely exciting and entertaining way.

We have listened to again and again

I let my 4 yr old pick out a couple of new books every month and some are hits and misses but this one was definitely a hit. He has listened to it several time and still likes it. The narrator does an amazing job of bringing the native African story to life. The sound effects in it and the music tie in so well. I know we will be looking for more by the author and narrator.

Waste of time and credit. Don’t buy this. In case it is not clear, this is not all of the anansi stories.
