About this listen

Everyone wants justice.

That's what Assistant DA Lulu Lightly tells me. "Cathedral City needs you to set things right," she says. "To rid this place of corruption, once and for all."

I'd like to rid Lulu Lightly of her clothes. And maybe her moral superiority. But mostly her clothes.

"I want you to fight the good fight with me," she says.

Hell, yeah. I'm always up for a fight.

"We should stand up and be the voice of the people," she says.

Sure, I hear voices. Sometimes I even listen to them.

"Figure out what's good for the City and put it first," she says.

Oh, honey...what's good for the City is bad for the people. Trust me, I know. I'm Case Reider - insane Alpha, nefarious inventor, and I understand this town better than anyone.

Cathedral City needs me all right. Just not the way you think. I'm not the justice you're looking for, Lulu Lightly. I'm still the same villain you left behind.

Only now...there's something very, very wrong with me.

between the first and second box, I have been completely blown away. I was not sure what do you think of the first book but it was great. The performance lacked a little bit but overall it was good and the second one just completely blew my mind.

I thought to keep up with it but I was completely in awe Julie you did again. It was unexpected and completely mind-blowing book 3 coming up. I thought to keep up with it but I was completely in awe Julie you did it again. It was unexpected and completely mind-blowing... book 3 coming up.

When Case said who runs this city at the end I was anticipating he was going to say it and he did. "It's ran by us, The Alphas." I hollered, yes, yes!!! Fucking loved it. 🥰🥰🥰🥰

I love Julie’s books and will buy a book that Tad reads cause he reading it. That said. I like the having to think as the story is told and try to guess what’s gonna happen next. I’m usually sad that they end as I can see them play out and would love more of the characters but it is a book and too long would loose some. Another success and can’t wait for the next.

I love the super hero twist

Another series by J that I’m not disappointed with.
I liked the performances I think the only issues I had with it was when the guy did the girl’s voice didn’t really sound pleasing lol and he made Thomas sound kinda weird too but that’s just me nip picking.

The drama! The romance!

Case and Lulu
Ok so this book had a lot more story which is what I liked. We get the full rounded picture of just how much it feels like the city against the three of them. We also see that someone is out to mess with the 3 guys. Pinning things on them they didn’t do. It is interesting that is for sure.
Case is going through something and he doesn’t feel like he can let the guys in. Lulu coming back into his life has been a good thing. It showed him that he isn’t alone and that maybe just maybe there is hope.
I have to say I like how he was pushing her away at one point because her mind was so made up he wasn’t willing to take the scraps.
Ok now the narration, I know unpopular opinion but Tad just doesn’t do it for me, 2 stars for narration for him sorry. I hated the voice he gave Lincoln. I hated the voice he gave Case at the end there. It felt over acted. I really enjoy Ava Erickson 5 stars for her narration, she did a fantastic job!

This was very good if you like a little bit of magic or syfi-- whatever you want to call it, mixed in. But I found it to be interesting.

GOOD FOR A CHANGE OF PACE

This is the second book of the anarchy series. Chase was also created to be an alpha. After they escaped from the school he was told he was going to be Lulu’s date for the debutante ball. She was excited as she had seen him around and wanted to know more about him. He on the other hand was not. He had to take a lot of classes to make sure he was the proper date. Right after the dance she and her family left the city. Years later she has back as an ADA. There was a bank heist and her boss thinks Chase and his buddies were behind it. She was to investigate and get back to him. Will she turn Chase in or will old feeling they had for each other reappear?

Loved it
