Publisher's summary

Anne Shirley's childhood sweetheart, Gilbert Blythe, is finally a doctor, and in the old orchard, among their dearest friends, he and Anne speak their vows. The first year of marriage brings them new friends and their own dream house on the misty purple shores of Four Winds Harbour. A new life means fresh problems to solve - and fresh surprises.

Anne and Gilbert will make new friends and meet their neighbors: Captain Jim, the lighthouse attendant, with his sad stories of the sea; Miss Cornelia Bryant, the lady who speaks from the heart - and speaks her mind; and the tragically beautiful Leslie Moore, into whose dark life Anne shines a brilliant light.

Favorite

So far, it's my favorite of the series! It's beautifully written and I've listened to it twice so far. The voice characterization is well executed and I look forward to listening to it again before I go to the next book in the series!

One of her best and that's saying something

At first we weren't sure about this one but as we persisted we were rewarded with one of the best stories in memory.

Surprise! there is another Anne of Green Gables

Would you consider the audio edition of Anne's House of Dreams to be better than the print version?

For me this is a great way to relax and try to sleep.
But It was a GOD send, when I shared it with a friend who was unable to read anymore. ... (she died of brain cancer and loved to read) For her, this was a tremendous help to fill the hours.. I am so very glad I found you!! It was a way to be helpful, when there is not allot to offer. Thank you for making available, a wonderful interesting and loving story.

Who was your favorite character and why?

I loved the Captain and his stories of the sea, and his extreme kindness.

Which scene was your favorite?

The walks on the beach in the moonlight...true romantic ....and lover the sea !!

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

Laughed out loud at some of Ann's high-jinks...but also cried when the truth came out about others lives and hardships.

Any additional comments?

Thoroughly enjoyed living a bit more in Anne's shoes!!

This series has yet to get stale

Another excellent book to continue the series.

I first listened to the series with free downloads and Karen Savage is yet to be beaten by any of the readers I have experienced in Audible's selection--thus only 3 stars for this reader, who is good and won't distract you, but not as good as Karen.

I'm a guy and I endorse these. In fact, I can't wait to start reading them with my children.

Wonderful!

Expertly narrated each character distinct from the others.
Anne’s house of dreams is a beautifully written story I laughed and cried with the characters. L.M. Montgomery knows acutely how to relate the joys and tragedies of early marriage and complicated friendships in a way that is true to life. I loved every minute of it.

Amazing book everybody loved the story, but we hated the reader. She had a bad reading voice.

Why does Captain Jim have a Scottish? accent?

Overall, great book, and good narration. Captain Jim's accent just was so distracting. He is just as Canadian as the rest of them - not sure why he has that crazy strong accent.

I do love reading Lucy Maud 's books but my eyes have been giving me a bit of trouble so I am very grateful I can enjoy them on audible.
