About this listen

What happens to you when you love someone with all of your heart, but that love has nowhere to go?

Heartthrob, Cole Harkin, counted his blessings with a gorgeous wife and the couple's excitement of a first baby on the way.

Just when he thought his world was complete, Cole becomes devastated and overwhelmed when his future is ripped from under his feet.

With little choice in the matter, Cole has to face living another life.... A very different life to the one he thought he and Grace had planned.

Sweet

This was a slow sweet and emotional story. I liked the the slow pace on this though. It didn’t drag on as much as it was to give the sense of time this story covers.

Beautiful and hopeful

Narrator ❤️ TD always brings a story to life and is as easy to listen to as summer rain. This story is a wonderful example of working through unimaginable grief and opening your heart to love again. Will seek out more by this author.

Cole, Layla and Harper

Oh my heart... This story will break you apart but slowly piece you back together again. Cole's grief was palpable, heartbreaking and deeply emotional. His love for Layla and trying to be a dad to her was undeniable. But what I loved more than anything is the connection he developed with Harper. She's been there from the start and has stuck by him, no matter what.. I know, i know she was a paid employee but you could just tell that she loved him & Layla and her love was unconditional. This is the first story by KL Shandwick I have indulged myself in and it definitely wont be my last. I am now a fan.

Troy Duran is the BEST. I love listening to him, he could read a receipt and I'd love it. He's phenomenal.

Wonderful and then some!

This is the first book I've read or listened to by K.L. Shandwick. I was drawn to it because of the story, yes, but initially, the narrator, Troy Duran caught my interest. I had previously listened to one other book he narrated and couldn't wait to hear more from him! Another Life was my next choice. The many facets and intricacies of love, parenthood, grief, building a new life, living with celebrity and getting out of your own way when you are trying to heal are woven into this story beautifully. Troy brings such depth and emotion to the story and voices all of the characters incredibly well! So well that I've listened to this book many more times. K.L. Shandwick wrote a beautiful, complex story and Troy brought it to life in my opinion, like no one else could,

What a tremendous book!!!

Ok.. so I love Troy Durans voice on audiobooks... I will just get that out of the way first. He does such an amazing job with the voicing of these characters!

This book broke my heart at the very beginning... when Cole lost Grace my heart ached for him and Laila. The grief could be felt in the narration, and the characters are so relatable that it’s easy to get lost in the story. I was very invested in this from the very beginning, and I was not disappointed at all! K.L. Shandwick’s writing is so detailed and easy to read/listen to that I had difficulty turning it off for anything!!!

Breathtaking!

This is among the best books I have listened to. The story is a rollercoaster of profound loss and joy with laugh-out-loud moments sprinkled in. Troy Duran is a superb narrator. He brought the story alive in visceral way that hooked me from start to finish.
