About this listen

What do you say to a naked sheriff?

What song do you play when you're being robbed at gunpoint?

What happens when a swanky Cabaret performance turns into a virtual vomit-fest?

And when you're stuck on a frozen, high mountain pass with no way down, who gets eaten first: the drummer or the roadie?

These scenarios, plus many more, told by musicians, artists, and managers in their own words make up Another Nightmare Gig from Hell.

Presented by Nick Zelinger and Tammy Brackett, Another Nightmare Gig from Hell offers up the humorous, sometimes scary, mundane, and downright touching stories of what musicians encounter in the studio, on the road, plying their craft, and enduring another possible nightmare.

An entertaining (and enlightening) compilation of true stories from musicians, artists, managers, promoters, and more.

William Scannell

These stories are very believable, being a musician myself I have been in similar situations. I particularly like the Kev Ron story, #4 I think. A must read very entertaining! 5 stars.

If you like music, you will like this book

A very well written, behind the scenes look at music. I enjoyed this book very much, and feel like I have a better grasp of what goes on behind the stage. I received this book at no cost from the publisher author narrator for a honest review.

A look at some of the things musicians go through

Where does Another Nightmare Gig from Hell rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?

There were some entertaining stories but it would have been better for me if I'd ever heard of any of the musicians.

Who was your favorite character and why?

I didn't have a favorite

Have you listened to any of Richard Rieman’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

No, I don't believe I've listened to Mr. Rieman before but his narration on this book was good so I wouldn't hesitate to listen to him in the future.

Real Stories of Bands and their Nightmares

This was a very interesting collection of stories. As an artist, I have known my own collection of nightmare stories from being on the road but never imagined what could happen to bands as they traveled around the globe building their name and reputation. This was well worth the listen and well put together.

Richard Rieman did a great job telling these stories and keeping the compilation flowing from one story to the next. His diction is clear. He's articulate and interesting to listen to. Nice job.

this is far from a nightmare listen ...

This book is a series of short tales about life on the road. Some are laugh out loud funny, some are downright creepy and others are very touching. There’s one tale in this book that I found particularly special. It’s the next to last story and it entertains and teaches an important life lesson in a very touching way. For this one story alone, it’s worth getting this book.

Even if you’ve never touched a musical instrument, this book is well worth the listen.

If you’ve ever gone to a local bar and listened to a band working their butts off on that stage, for little to no pay, you should listen to this book. It will give you great insight as to what the poor guys and gals have to endure to do something they love.

If you play in a cover/garage/up and coming band, then you should definitely listen to this book. It will help prepare you for that hard life on the road, and may even teach you a lesson in humility along the way.

The narrator does a fine job, he sounded better on some stories than the others, but I suspect that may have had more to do with the source material than the talent of the narrator.

In short, just spend the credit (or the cash) and listen to the book, you won’t regret it.
