The Bible tells us to pray continually and without ceasing, but what happens when we're waiting for God but discover He's waiting for us? In his first book, pastor and recording artist Travis Greene guides the listener to apply Biblical truths for a fulfilled life.

Praying and waiting for God to answer can be confusing. When something—or everything—feels stuck because God doesn't seem to be answering our prayers, what next? Pastor and Grammy-nominated recording artist Travis Greene issues a challenge and asks us to examine our prayers—Are we praying for the right thing? Are we planning and preparing for what we've asked for? Are we praying for our will to grow closer to His? Or do we sometimes treat him like a genie in a bottle? Using Biblical examples, Travis invites listeners to reconsider our prayers and

  • navigate beyond feeling trapped to thriving in God’s purposes;
  • learn to use what's left instead of focusing on what was lost;
  • be willing to forgive, wait, and work as God allows; and
  • believe in God's miracles while being a faithful steward of what He has already provided.

Sometimes what happens next depends on the choices made right now. And sometimes God has something else in mind for us—something we might never have imagined, or in a way we might not have imagined it! It's possible to press forward into a life filled with joy and expectation for the future! Like the widow who used the oil she had at hand, by using what God has already supplied, Travis encourages listeners that they may be closer to enjoying God's promises than they realize. Management can be a magnet for miracles.

What An Difference

I anticipated reading this book ever since you announced it at FC and it truly, truly has blessed me. After all this time, I had prayer, oftentimes, just plain wrong. Now I have a beautiful and instructional way of how I am to pray to my loving Father. I have learned I WILL trust and lean not to my own understanding and pray for and in God's will. One key thing that will resonate with me that PT said "He'll give you what TO want and not what you want". Thank you so much for your transparency. This book is a life changer. Praise God!

Dropping 💎💎💎

This book was a timely and invaluable resource. It emphasizes the importance of relying on God and applying the wisdom of the Bible to our real-life struggles, such as navigating the challenges of answered prayers, stewarding blessings, and enduring heartbreak when our prayers aren't answered as we had hoped.

Chapter 8, in particular, resonated with me deeply. It taught me to shift my focus from the pain of people leaving to the BLESSINGS THAT REMAIN. Often, I pretend not to be hurt by the absence of loved ones, believing that time will heal all wounds. Meanwhile, I watch others seemingly move on with ease.

I broke down in tears when the book suggested rephrasing our prayers. For instance, instead of being consumed by the loss of a friendship, we could as the book said 'thank the Lord for what the friendship was and ask God to help you heal from what the friendship now has become."

This advice spoke directly to my situation, I had recently been struggling with resentment towards someone I once cared for and who cared for me. Instead of embracing the tension between ( knowing God's purposeful sometimes seasonal assignments and my desire to not want to lose anyone else.)

The book encouraged me to acknowledge the past's goodness and accept the reality of the relationship's transformation, without villainizing the other person. Not what I was expecting to learn from a book titled Are you praying for the wrong thing. But I guess that's the point, good prayer is a heart posture thing. How can you pray for what God has for you properly when your heart is bound by unresolved hurt.

Right on Time

You opened my eyes to prayer in a way that they have never been open before. I have been praying wrong and being in the wrong frame of mind in doing so. This book will be on repeat so I can absorb this message. An amazing listen.

Love the transparency!

I learned a lot from this book mostly from the testimony and transparency Travis displayed. It strengthened my hope and faith for the plans God has for me. Thank you for your obedience Travis. I didn’t realize how much “success” truly cost you.

Praying

I like how he used personal experience to both share his testimony, and explain the meanings of prayer and asking for the right thing.
