About this listen

She’s willing to do anything to follow her plan. Debutante Alice Knight is ready for her first social season in London. She’s determined to impress society and her mother with an affluent match, at last escaping her past and embracing a future of her own making. Peter Strauss, an American reporter visiting England, isn’t exactly what Alice had in mind. However, his friendship proves invaluable as Alice faces the challenges of her debut. Almost immediately, she attracts the attention of a well-born gentleman - perfect, save for the simple fact that he’s not a Christian. The life she longs for is finally at her fingertips, but between her own heart and the convictions of her faith, she isn’t sure she ought to grasp it. At Her Fingertips, a romantic women's fiction novel, is the third novel in Kellyn Roth's Christian family saga, The Chronicles of Alice and Ivy.

Best Alice & Ivy novel yet!

So, turns out I'm basically just Alice.
Which means that, if I had to sit through this entire book and listen to Alice (and me) learn our lessons, then I should at least get a Peter out of it.

But this book was awesome. The characters, the dialogue, the storyline, everything. Any little issues I had (like the quick way the romance flipped near the end) were just covered up by how much I enjoyed this story.

Definitely my favorite Alice & Ivy story yet.

I won't give a content review, because Kell gave a super detailed one in her review (on Goodreads).

*I received a free audiobook from the author. All thoughts are my own, even if I might be permanently altered by Peter Strauss. A positive review was not required.*

Awesome narrator!

Book three is another winner! I enjoyed watching Alice grow into a young lady. The confidence and wit from her childhood follow her into ad society, where she hopes to find a husband. I love how author Kellyn brings up the topic of being unequally yoked, forcing Alice to take a deeper look at herself and examine how deep her fair really is.
What was less appealing were moments where Alice talked down to people, sometimes inner thoughts but demeaning non-the-less. But she learns to curve her tongue and channels her thoughts to more charitable ones as she stops putting people in categories and 'class' as other a
Society people did.
She grows inwardly throughout the story by becoming more considerate of others and mature spiritually.
I love the friendship and kindness Peter offers to everyone and his willingness to sacrifice his feelings (sigh, true love) and be a steady friend for Alice and her prince charming.
I rate this a four-star.

At Her Fingertips - or NOT! Great Audiobook!

Alice is now having her "coming out" year! She is determined in this "first Season" she will have her marriage proposal. If he is from the 'right family". It won't matter if they love each other, they can still make it work. However, it is getting into the "first Season'" and still no prospects Alice can abide.
Peter Strauss is a successful American reporter. He is charming but not wealthy. However, he was college chums with a couple of "hopefuls". The one is clearly smitten with another of her friends. The other, who Peter is staying with, is highly sought after but with a dubious character. Alice could tame him, right?
Peter is smitten with the vivacious, beautiful Alice Knight. She is clearly not interested in him romantically and a long-distance relationship would never work. They do become good friends. She finds in him a valuable confidant.
At Her Fingertip addresses fickle ideas, growing changes in one's priorities. choosing a human over God, and different aspects of love. It also, emphasizes misinterpretations and fading friendship.
This also brings out the different mindsets of men vs women.
It is a poignant tale.
This is an amazing series and this third book does not disappoint.
Alexandra Ralph continues to do a very effective performance, as always.

Inspiring and enjoyable!

In At Her Fingertips, Alice is now 18 years old and is looking for a suitor. Although the mention of debutante season in a story usually makes me cringe a bit on the inside, I enjoyed this one tremendously. Especially since Alice wants a ‘sensible’ marriage and doesn’t really have faith in romantic love. Alice shows wonderful growth throughout the story—and I say that after wanting to shake her a time or two, or at least giving her a few nudges.

I experienced a myriad of emotions reading this book. I was infuriated as much as I was captivated, and might I say a bit infatuated. It’s a little difficult for me to say too much about this story because it’d be too easy to spill something I shouldn’t. But I will say, this story contains depth, emotion, a wonderful setting, and many characters to love (and some you’ll want to shake senselessly…kidding, but just barely.)

This third book of the series (which also works as a standalone) delivers a story wrapped in Christian elements, sweet romance, and witty dialogue. It’s especially inspiring and enjoyable and I can’t wait to get started on the next!

Great audiobook!

I love this narrator so much. She's great at distinguishing voices and different accents.

Alice Knight's debut is here. She has an exciting and memorable first season and seems to be perfectly matched to a gentleman suitor right away. Or... Maybe not.

Gibson Ashfield pursues Alice in a courtship that is headed for marriage. Alice doesn't seem that interested in him. She just wants to get married.

American journalist Peter Strauss is - well - nearly perfect. I loved watching his friendship with Alice bloom and blossom. He's a true gentleman; the kind of fellow every man and woman needs in their lives. I can't wait to continue the series.
