About this listen

An actor, a model, and a younger man walk into a therapist’s office.... They’re all Dylan Brodie. It’s only funny if you aren’t the single mom therapist he can’t stop flirting with.

Dear Mr. Brodie,

I hope this email finds you well.
Your well-being and personal growth are of the utmost importance to me, as a therapist.
As such, I have decided it is in your best interest to continue individual therapy with another practitioner.
This is due to the potential for boundaries being crossed between us.
Attached is a list of colleagues I would recommend for you.

Sincerely,
Scarlett Shepard, MS, MFT

Dear Scarlett,

Cool.
Consider our sessions terminated.
Now I can tell you how beautiful you are and how attracted I am to you.
Let’s start crossing boundaries over dinner tonight.
You’ll say it would be unethical, and I’ll point out that we’ve only had a few sessions.
You’ll cite the age difference, and I’ll tell you how hot it is that you’re six years older than me.
You’ll say you’re a mom, and I’ll remind you that I think your son is awesome.
We don’t have to discuss my former attachments to former co-stars ever again.
This is due to the fact that clearly my only personality issue is that I’m irresistible.

Yours in well-being and personal growth,
Dylan Brodie, W.M.H.T.A.T.Y.E.H. (Way More Handsome and Talented Actor Than Your Ex-Husband)

This is a duet-style audiobook, starring Zachary Webber and Emily Woo Zeller. Featuring Jason Clarke, Teddy Hamilton, Mackenzie Cartwright, Connor Crais, and Emma Wilder.

Attachment theory

The narration was amazing. Such good actors the story was OK very predictable but entertaining. I love that the stories are not only romantic but very funny. Nice for a relaxing read without a lot of stress or complications.

Cute, funny and riddled with fart jokes

Who doesn't love a light hearted love story edith a scene of comedic adolescent humor? Especially when the main character is just a romantic at heart.

My second book in this series and have to say, I'm a fan.

WOW👏👏👏

Oh I loved this book so hard. I have to give credit to these narrators who are fantastic. I honestly can't even say enough about them they did a fantastic job. Kayley Loring is a genius writer. She's funny and heartfelt and my goodness the way she develops characters will make you cry -laugh- fist pump! I fell absolutely in love with Dylan what a great character. I think he's an absolute sweetheart. Scarlett!! Wonderful. I adored Owen and I'm completely smitten with Dylan and I can't wait for fussy Miles to get his happily ever after. You guys if you haven't read the series you were missing out.

Hilarious

That was so funny. I found myself laughing with tears so may times. The kid character was funny, both sets of parent. I would listen again if I needed an emotional pick me up.

Wow so amazing!

When I first read this book and later on I found out the line up of narrators that would star in this audiobook, I just knew that I’d had to listen. I don’t care that I’ve read the story last month and that I almost never reread a book. Let me tell it was super worth it.

Zachary Webber as Dylan and Emily Woo Zeller as Scarlett were perfection, they portrait so well all the laugh out loud moments and the emotions as well. And let’s just not forget all the other appearances that also made the story by Jason Clarke, Connor Crais, Teddy Hamilton, Emma Wilder and Mackenzie Cartwright.

Adding to my original review, I must say that I have a huge soft spot on Mama Brodie and listen to her and all her expletive awesomeness was a $h!t in a biscuit craziness. I love this lady. Seriously the Brodie family is a lot of fun and they banter and tease each other like no other family. Also Noah, Scarlett’s son is so stinky (pun intended) cute!

Great audiobook and I absolutely loved listen to it. It’s one of my favorite yet, so worth it!

I loved it 3000!

Meet cute: 3 years ago. Dylan is minding his own business, just trying to get lunch when he sees her. In her red and shoelaces untied. He, in the most chivalrous way, bends down and ties them for her... and nope, nothing comes out of it because Scarlett is fresh out a divorce, with a 5 year old son and last thing she needs is another actor in her life.

Fast forward to three years later and Dylan is yet again being teased by his brothers that he has just broken up with another of his co-stars. He seems to fall in love with all of them. And whatever Dylan does is fodder for intense big brothers razzing, as it should be, according to family tradition.

Trying to get out of this pattern, Dylan seeks a new therapist. He really wants to deal with all this and find a person who can be himself with, to feel safe with, to be loved by and love in return.

Well, well, well... guess who's a therapist! And guess who, in these past three years, watched every single episode of Dylan' s former show on Disney+ because she never got the chivalrous shoelace tier out of her head?

I have a disclaimer: I love Kayley Loring. She's my go to author for when I want to laugh and get the warm and fuzzies while I am laughing. Because that's exactly what this book is. We get the whole Brodie clan in top form. We get Scarlett's family (I just love her mom!!!) and a smart and funny kid in Scarlett's Noah. And we get Dylan, my favorite Brodie of all since book 1. He's all heart. We get Scarlett, whose brain is so like mine I was scared! And Kayley even throws in a cuter than cute rescue kitten!

I love the way the relationship develops and I love how the meddling of both families is so much fun to read! The group texts are hilarious! Mama Brodie is my favorite texter! EVER!

Kayley's writing is perfect for audiobooks. And she kicks butt writing them. What I just read was the perfect script in book form. I can't wait to listen to it when it is released.

I am in love with these characters, with a tiny kitten and little boys obsessed with farts!

AUDIOBOOK REVIEW: I love audiobooks. I am one of those people who actually enjoys them as works of art themselves. I don't listen to them to speed my reading (I am in fact a freak who can read faster than listening to the audiobook). I also am that loony who listens to it at 1 speed. I enjoy the performances, the acting involved in narrating. A mediocre book can be saved by stellar narration and a perfect book can be killed by a bad one. And when you get a wonderfully constructed piece of writing like Kayley Loring brought to us in this book and you put it together with a cast of GOAT narrators, you get a unicorn: the perfect audiobook.

You can tell that Kayley Loring writes knowing that her books are going to be narrated. And this series (and particularly this book) was tailor made for the people she cast in to play her characters. Zachary Webber IS Dylan Brodie. Emily Woo Zeller is a new narrator for me and I confess that I was kinda worried because I have a huge soft spot for Scarlett. Well, my worries were unfounded. She so nailed it! And we get multi-cast narration with Jason Clarke, Connor Crais, Teddy Hamilton, Emma Wilder and the official voice of KL's lady parts (listen to Kayley Loring's podcast and you will know what I am talking about), Mackenzie Cartwright.

You get Zach doing little boy voice. (SO STINKING CUTE}

You get a special appearance by Drew Barrymore...

And if you are a Jason Clarke fan, you get Chapter 35. Just sayin'

Thank you, Kayley, for a fairly sleepless night (the ALC copy dropped in my mailbox at 12 am!) but sleep is overrated when you get to spend time having so much fun!

It's (insert a Mama Brodie expletive) good!

(I received an ALC in exchange for an honest review)

Love the whole Brodie clan

Kayley Loring is quickly becoming one of my top go-to authors for amazing romcoms with elevated humor that makes me practically fall out of my seat laughing. I feel like her novels just keep getting better and better, and I'm happy to be along for the ride.

Dylan Brodie is one of those Hollywood stars that appears to have an ego the size of California, and a revolving door on his bedroom. But that's just an image he projects, and that is not who he is AT ALL. He's a man that doesn't think he's enough, but he keeps trying to be what people need him to be. Enter Scarlett, the therapist that is trying to help him realize that he is good enough. The therapist that he has met before, and that he's been interested in previously, but who is now off-limits because Dylan is her patient. But Dylan doesn't want to be deterred. Scarlett is everything Dylan wants and needs, and he recognizes that pretty early on.

I love that we get another Mama Brodie/extended Brodie family story, complete with all of the wild Brodie family text messages!

The audio of is book is NEXT LEVEL AMAZING. This full cast audio, lead by Emily Woo Zeller and Zachary Webber, is such a treat to listen to. It's funny, fast paced, smile inducing, and may make you laugh until you pee your pants, so you've been warned. Definitely worth the listen and one of the most fun romcoms that I've listened to.

Kayley, please keep writing these beautifully offbeat, intelligent, and just plain joyous rom-coms.

I HEART DYLAN BRODIE

This is my first audio book narrated by Emily Woo Zeller and I'm so impressed. She was perfect as Scarlett and also as Evelyn whom I adore.
Zachary was wonderful as always and having a full cast really lifted this book to another level.
Everything about this book deserves 5 stars and it's one I will listen to over and over.

The rom com we all deserve

This. Was. PERFECT.
So many “romantic comedy” audibles are overly moody, all sex and no story, not actually funny, or some unfortunate combo of the three. But not this one! This one is absolutely hilarious, so well- narrated, and just delightful in every way. Also, I couldn’t put my finger on why the leading male was so freakin lovable until it hit me- the way he is written and the way he is brought to life by Zachary Webber turned him into Ryan Reynolds. He sounded just like a character he would play, and it was magic. I’ll definitely read more from this author and especially the other books involving these characters. 10/10 would recommend.
