Publisher's summary

Dear Fiona,

I hope this letter finds you well—and by well, I mean significantly less infuriated than you were yesterday. I’ve wanted to continue our conversation from the night we met, but there are so many things I can’t say or do, now that I’m your professor.

As an anonymous letter writer, I can give you some idea of what I have planned for us, once the year is over. As an author, I can share my work in progress with you. Not for you to critique but to show you how much you mean to me.

When you’re done reading this page, destroy it—and then write me back. Don’t sign the letter. Don’t put a return address on the envelope. Mail it from a random mailbox.

Yours in problem solving,

Me

P.S. I still think you’re wasting your talent on that historical romance novel.

P.P.S. I really wanted to push you up against the door and kiss your beautiful, angry face. I will. One day.

***

Dear Emmett,

Your handwriting is almost as terrible as your mood swings, and it would have been my instinct to destroy that letter even if you hadn’t ordered me to.

If you show me your work in progress, I will critique it.

I am currently still too infuriated to write about all the other feelings I have for you.

Expect another letter soon.

Your problem and your solution,
Me

P.S. I still think an overpaid, overrated, overly handsome best-selling author of thrillers has no business teaching creative writing at a prestigious New York university.

P.P.S. To my great horror, I really wanted you to push me up against that door and kiss my angry face too. I understand now that your appalling way of treating me in class has been overcompensation, but I don’t forgive you for it. I’ll kiss you again anyway. One day.

*This multicast audiobook is mostly dual narration with portions that are duet-style.*

Love the narration!

This was my first book by Kayley Loring and it most definitely won't be my last! I've seen so many wonderful reviews on this author's books and I love Teddy Hamilton as a narrator, so I thought I would try this one. I loved it! I was laughing out loud many times.

If you like an age-gap, forbidden, sexy romcom then read this book! The age gap is only ten years. Fiona is 25 and Emmett is 35. Emmett is grumpy and sad and Fiona is young and sunshine. Emmett is a well-known writer of Jack Irons novels and Fiona is new to NYC and wants to write a regency romance. Both of their works in progress were incorporated into the book and it was hilarious and definitely so awesome on audio!

I'm going to most definitely be checking out the rest of this author's books!

Unique Twist Given to a Familiar Theme

This is a delightful listen! Fun, unique Twist added to a flirty Professor -- Student love story.
Great characters with personality & depth. EXCELLENT performances by all of the narrators.
Big kudos to one of my favorites, Teddy Hamilton, as well as Mackenzie Cartwright, Shane East & Connor Crais! 👏 Connor deserves extra recognition for his fabulous performance of GOLIATH THE COCK in Epilogue Three! 🐓😆 Hilarious!!! 🤣😂🤣

I freaking love it!!

I laughed out loud sooo many times while listening to this book, my family thought I was crazy, because I listen to my audio books with ear buds. This is my first book from her and I’m in love with the way she writes. Her sense of humor is spot on and she (her characters) say exactly what I would have them say. On to the next book of hers. Definitely worth a credit. I will be listening to this again in a few months.

Funny, unique, quirky, swoony, and completely fantastic!

The Love Interest by Kayley Loring is fantastic. It has two author main characters writing two very different novels, of which chapters are shared with the reader, and there is some art imitates life in those chapters. I felt like because both Emmett and Fiona were authors, the whole book was written a little different. With more description and feeling, more author-y, as that would be their internal voices as well as writer voices. This story is different. As Fiona says, you are living in three parallel universes at the same time, and it works. It works so well. This story is so entertaining, a unique fun read, funny, quirky with swoony lead and lovable heroine. Oh, and there’s a 4 foot Rooster. Give this one a read or listen, it is so so good!!

I knew when this book was releasing, I needed to wait for the audio. I love being right. Teddy Hamilton was perfect for Emmett. Seriously, he had all the perfect tones for all of his moods and feelings and he made the character even better. Mackenzie Cartwright does Kayley’s leading ladies so perfectly I can’t stand it. These hilarious lines are delivered so spot on that you almost can’t believe what you just heard. And I love her timing and tone. Now, Connor Crais and Shane East were so great on their parts as the extra stories being written. All the perfect drama and snark!

Excellent!

I adore Kaley Loring books & this one is no different. Teddy & Mackenzie are great as always, but it's Connor Crais & Shane East who give standout performances in this audio. Highly recommend!

Emmett & Fiona

Unique story, but loved it and their Book Characters role and telling of their stories of love, intrigue and danger. Two souls searching each other for different reasons, one for loss and longing of love and the other for what true love is. Their need and passion for each other and finally accepting and taking their desire for each other and damn the consequences. Good read, lots of heat and desire. Once you start it you will be hard pressed to put it down. Great Narration by all.
