About this listen

He's a hot football star and a sexy-as-sin single dad. Zac Ledger is everything I never knew I wanted.

A prince on a white horse swooping in to save the day... Isn't that every girl's dream? Maybe for some, but I've never expected to find my own happily ever after.

I've made one bad dating choice after another, and it doesn't help that my only example of marriage is my dad leaving my mother before I was even born.

I'll never be a believer in fairy tales. So, imagine my surprise when I meet Zac Ledger at my sister's wedding. He is the total opposite of my usual type: gorgeous, confident, and genuine. He's also athletic, and I am so not. They call him the GOAT in the NFL...and I didn't even know what either acronym meant until my sister told me. There's something about him.

One drink. One dance. And I'm ready to believe that there are actually good guys out there. That is until I overhear him on the phone, and I realize he's just like every other jerk I've dated.

When he hires me as his interior designer to come work on his new house, I resist, but he's persistent. My goal is to finish the job and keep him at a distance. I'm not prepared for the real Zac Ledger or the way he dotes on his adorable little girl.

When the renovation dust begins to settle, I realize there is more to Zac than his NFL accolades, and maybe, just maybe, he will prove to be the one man in my life that chooses to stick around.

Small town, single dad, football romance!

Autumn Nights is a small town, sports (football), single dad romance! This one recently came out on audio, so I jumped into it. I’ve only read this author when she collab’d on a series years back, so this was my first time reading one of just hers.

Autumn ends up meeting Zac at her sister Summer’s wedding (she has her own book, Summertime). They meet and hit it off, sparks fly, and all of that. But then she overhears him speaking on the phone with someone lovingly and calling the caller “my sweetest girl”, and she assumes he has a lady in his life and is trying to cheat with her. But of course he’s talking to his daughter, she just doesn’t realize it! We then cut to a bit later and the heroine works as an interior designer. Her boss ends up getting an offer to work on the hero’s house and he confronts Autumn about why she kind of disappeared on him at the wedding and is giving him the cold shoulder now. She tells him she isn’t into cheaters and that’s when he realizes she thought he was talking to a woman and not his daughter on the phone. They kind of easily fall into a relationship after that, with her also working on his house.

This was a pretty cute, low angst romance. There is some drama with his ex that I could have done without. I did really appreciate how immediately Autumn wants to learn ASL when she realizes his daughter uses sign language to communicate. I did want more football, we don’t really get any on-page besides the hero being a football player. All in all, this was an okay one, nothing horrible but not a fav!

Really loved this small town romance!

This book had all the great feels! You really love the journey and the building of the romance in the story! You can’t go wrong with Samantha Brentmore but the male narrator needs a lot of work! Still didn’t take away from the story or the listen it was well worth it!

Single Dad/Sports Romance

Autumn meets Zac at her sister's wedding and they have an instant connection, but she assumes he is a teacher after she overhears him on the phone with his daughter. Zac is a great hero. He is a devoted/protective father, close to his family, and a football star in Boston! Autumn makes a lot of assumptions about based upon old wounds from her dad and past relationships. Then there was more than one scenes ex drama that weren't needed. I did love how Autumn and Ivy (Zac's daughter) bonded together. I love how Autumn took the time to learn ASL in order communicate Ivy. Ultimately, it was a cute story.

Decent

I thought the book was decent, but it didn't really resonate with me. I was expecting more of an autumn atmosphere given the title, but I quickly realized that's just the name of the FMC. Overall, it's a sweet and fairly enjoyable book, particularly if you're into sports romance with a single dad. I'd suggest it to anyone interested in that genre, although it wasn't exactly what I was in the mood for.

cute, single dad romance

This was a cute single dad romance, but I just couldn't connect with Autumn. I loved how she was with Ivy, but her insecurities when it came to Zac just got a little repetitive and annoying. I wasn't a fan of the female narrator. She would pause at strange intervals, and I didn't like how she voiced some of the male characters. Overall, not bad but not my favorite.
