About this listen

Eric:

I f--ked up. Not in a small way, either.

When I met my son's best friend, the attraction was instantaneous. Jesse Morgan is charming, witty, and hot as sin. He might be young, but he's wise beyond his years. And damn, what he can do to me with something as simple as his touch or one glance from those chestnut colored eyes.

Hard as I tried, I couldn't keep my greedy hands off him, and once I had a taste, I needed more.

He awakens a fire within me unlike anything I've experienced with another guy. He stirs a hot lust that makes it difficult for me to spend time with him without tearing his clothes off and giving him the pleasure he deserves.

It's more than that, though.

He makes me believe in something I'd given up on: love.

I love him. I want him to claim me, body and soul.

And messed up as it might sound, the man who destroyed what remained of my estranged relationship with my son might be the very man who can help save it.

Yes, I made one of the biggest mistakes in my life by starting down this path, but as far as mistakes go, Jesse Morgan is a pretty damn amazing one.

Hi Devon

This was an incredible book. I have never known the struggles that people have gone through. Thank you for sharing your talents! I look forward to reading all of your books. I live in Atlanta and also lived in San Diego. Two of my favorite places in the U.S. I am looking Forward to visiting PV with my friends that have condos there now that I have heard your books on Audible. Keep up the good work and I hope to meet you one day.

Excellent Story

This continuation was every bit as good as the first book. Devon does an excellent job of dealing with two significant social issues in a really good story. Well Done is not strong enough.

Okay...

First of all... Ty sure as hell was NOT born in Georgia, drinking his unsweetened tea 🤢. No self-righteous southerner does that! Ew. Second, this book filled in some things but at the same time, kind of felt like a filler. idk. it was good though and very sweet.

Great second book!

It was nice to get the continuation of the book 1. The story line went as I had hoped it would. I do not see how another book could be written unless it changes the plot. I will look for more books by this author.

A Pithy, Challenging Middle Book.

I've read various reviews of this second offering in the BFF trilogy, some harsh and dismissive, others that it wasn't as "fun" as it began. While I can now appreciate where both mind sets were coming from, my own assessment is more tempered.

Without giving away too much, I thoroughly enjoyed the heavier reveals, the deepening of the plot & maturing of the lead characters. Especially as a former therapist, I greatly respected the journey Devon McCormack researched and accurately portrayed.

This book reveals a heavier side to the relationship being worked on with our main men. Mitigating the damage & pain from choices made, affecting every life they are close to, and yes... it's a grownup story that isn't easily resolved. As in real life, there are consequences for our actions; as with real life, facing those consequences bravely can be very rewarding. Especially when we reach out for the loving support often found beside us.

It's work to get into and upon this storyline, but so very worthwhile! Exceedingly well crafted, and interesting how he manages to bring the reader into the midst of a painful process, and out the other side. Brilliant! We emerge stronger, melded together with Jesse & Eric by a beautiful bond that will only deepen.

Greater challenges lie ahead in book three, which I'm beginning as soon as the ink dries on this review!

As ALWAYS, major kudos to the amazing Michael Dean. His rich talents have never shown with greater significance than here. Capturing a wide range of emotion, his people are unique, well-rounded, and beautifully woven together. A perfect narrator reflecting an excellent script. Enjoy!!!

Fantastic Sequel with Great Narration

Devon McCormack has such a talent for writing realistic and hopeful, steamy romances! The BFF sequel continues along Eric and Jesse’s journey to dating and dealing with Ty, who happens to be Eric’s son and Jesse’s best friend. I can imagine this story actually taking place in real life and felt all the feels! :) The story also focus on some trauma and the author did a thorough job on explaining the process and content of therapies and various treatments out there for trauma. Bravo for the detail! And Michael Pauley’s narration is SPOT on!

great romance but slow storyline.

I liked the first book a lot. I thought the second installment was too slow and wallowed a little too much in the emotional trauma area, so much so that I am hesitant to read the third installment. I accidentally read Pretty Things first, which features the same characters but is not part of the series. I liked that book the best so far because of the action sequences coupled with the romance.

such a wonderful love story

This is a great story about a hard but wonderful journey to finding your one true love. It's about fitting your demons and finding that you are worth the love given and about finding your way into your child's life and coming to terms with your mistakes. I just loved how Jesse was such a great guy with Eric and in helping him get the help he needed even when Eric seemed to pull away and it was great how Ty encouraged Jesse to still be there for his dad when things got rocky. I hated how Ty's mom treated his dad and didn't let him have a relationship with his dad and didn't even tell Eric when he had a son and then to judge Eric when he told her about Jesse I felt she didn't have a right to do that when how she handled the situation with father and son. other than that I loved the story.

Loved the first book and the second was just as amazing as the first. So glad there's a third!
