Story
Is bourbon the quintessential American liquor? Bourbon is not just alcohol - the amber-colored drink is deeply ingrained in American culture and tangled in American history. From the early days of raw corn liquor to the myriad distilleries that have proliferated around the country today, bourbon is a symbol of the United States. This course traces bourbon's entire history, from the 1700s, with Irish, Scottish, and French settlers setting up stills and making distilled spirits in the New World, through today's booming resurgence.

We live in a world of seeds. From our morning toast to the cotton in our clothes, they are quite literally the stuff and staff of life, supporting diets, economies, and civilizations around the globe. Just as the search for nutmeg and the humble peppercorn drove the Age of Discovery, so did coffee beans help fuel the Enlightenment and cottonseed help spark the Industrial Revolution. And from the fall of Rome to the Arab Spring, the fate of nations continues to hinge on the seeds of a Middle Eastern grass known as wheat.

Story
Bees are like oxygen: ubiquitous, essential, and, for the most part, unseen. While we might overlook them, they lie at the heart of relationships that bind the human and natural worlds. In Buzz, the beloved Thor Hanson takes us on a journey that begins 125 million years ago, when a wasp first dared to feed pollen to its young. From honeybees and bumbles to lesser-known diggers, miners, leafcutters, and masons, bees have long been central to our harvests, our mythologies, and our very existence. They've given us sweetness and light, the beauty of flowers, and as much as a third of the foodstuffs we eat. And, alarmingly, they are at risk of disappearing.

Sourdough bread fueled the labor that built the Egyptian pyramids. The Roman Empire distributed free sourdough loaves to its citizens to maintain political stability. More recently, amidst the COVID-19 pandemic, sourdough bread baking became a global phenomenon as people contended with being confined to their homes and sought distractions from their fear, uncertainty, and grief. In Sourdough Culture, environmental science professor Eric Pallant shows how throughout history, sourdough bread baking has always been about survival.

This comprehensive bundle is essential for success
I am so grateful I came across this 4-in-1 guide to prepping a self-sustaining homestead. Admittedly, I’m a city dweller but have been interested in farming and urban farming and raising animals and cultivating my own food for some time. Thanks to this in-depth guide, I feel much more equipped to grow my own food (in a rural or indoor or urban environment) and even raise chickens organically and sustainably on my current small piece of property. If you’re thinking of homesteading on any level or are simply interested in one of the four major topics inside this book or if you just find homesteading interesting, you have to start here with this book. The audio was also super easy to listen to and follow along with. Will definitely recommend!!

Aneye opening look at living off the grid
I personally never liked "roughing it". The idea of using survival skills has always scared me and I dont think I could do it. This book has given me more information than I absorb on the subject of living off the land and using your resources. It is a great way to help the environment and develop critical thinking skills. When looking for fresh water its more trhan just finding a source. Is it safe? How do I make it safe? What are the steps to do that? It more effort than expected. However this book explains the process of prepping in a easy to understand and calm manner. I feel if I had to I could do this. The fact that this book is four titles in one is also amazing. I responded more to the two books on raising animals as a source of resouceful living. I think chickens are a resource that many people are trying and raising goats sounds fun. All these books are informational and a good resource to having your own resourcefulness right in your own backyard. It might be fun to try!

This Book Covers It All!
This set of books are fantastic. You'll have everything you need with this compendium of 4-1 set. I love that it coves both homesteading, prepping, as well as raising chickens and goats. We have friends who have both, and it's been a mystery to me how to make all those moving pieces (raising animals, etc.) working smoothly. Now, I have I clear understanding of how to raise chickens and goats! Yay! These books make things easy for beginners. They are definitely a must-read for anyone starting with homesteading, survival/prepping, or raising animals. I love this set of books because there’s so much include and organized in one place. It's like having a well informed friend right there for you - to help you along the way and to answer any questions that may arise. I appreciated that these books take a big picture approach and then give practical advice - making you feel more capable and competent. This set would make a great gift for friends or family. I highly recommend this amazing set if you want to homestead, raise animals and more prepared.

Comprehensive and invaluable
So happy that I came across these books. Having this in my library is invaluable. It offers everything you need to know to be prepared in an emergency, or in my case live off the grid as much as possible. As a "mini" prepper myself, I learned a ton. Love the book on Raising Chickens!!!

Great self-sufficiency collection
I’ve been wanting to grow my self-sufficiency skills and this collection helped so much. I especially love how it teaches you to create your own self-sufficient food supply. I’ve long been concerned about the quality of food at the grocery stories and this book had some great advice for skipping the store entirely and doing it all yourself. I feel better knowing where my food comes from. This way it’s so much healthier and a very rewarding process.

Great bundle for learning to be independent
I have always been concerned that we rely on others for the majority of our life. Never being prepared for when any part of that may end. These books do a great job explaining how to take care of yourself and not be dependent on society for everything. Food and water are essential and I know many will refer to it as "roughing it", but this is how we all started hundreds of years ago. Being prepared for the unexpected is the best resource one can have. Being able to take care of yourself will ensure your survival. I highly recommend listening to these books and at least trying to implement a few things little by little. I am looking forward to becoming more sustainable.

Excellent resource for off-grid living
Having grown up on a farm, I appreciate the self-sufficiency aspects of this 4 in 1 book. Each book gives the information you need to start your own homestead, what to keep in mind, and how to raise healthy animals, and walks you through it step by step to become self-sufficient. His experience and personal stories really make a difference. I recommend this for anyone thinking about living off-grid (or semi-off-grid).
