About this listen

Mini Farming describes a holistic approach to small-area farming that will show you how to produce 85 percent of an average family's food on just a quarter acre - and earn $10,000 in cash annually while spending less than half the time that an ordinary job would require. Even if you have never been a farmer or a gardener, this book covers everything you need to know to get started: buying and saving seeds, starting seedlings, establishing raised beds, soil fertility practices, composting, dealing with pest and disease problems, crop rotation, farm planning, and much more. Because self-sufficiency is the objective, subjects such as raising backyard chickens and home canning are also covered along with numerous methods for keeping costs down and production high.

Excellent level of detail and support. Great presentation.

This is all you need for success in mini farming and survival against the growing threat of poisonous, and unhealthy food, available in stores. Thanks.

Mini Farming

He didn't cover where to start seeds for transplantation. The narration was too precise, and left me exhausted.

Great material!

Overall the book itself is fantastic. I really enjoyed and even learned some new things. The narrator has a nice smooth voice, but tends to read ridiculously slow. Even when I sped up the timing it still was not enjoyable per his way of reading. Overall I’d recommend this book.

#1 for content

Mini Farming is full of practical information and up there at the top with my other favorite by Monty Don, Down to Earth. I have used my monthly credits on numerous other gardening/farming books that were low on practical help but high on "performance". Give me monotone anyday over political hype.

Good info

As others have noted the narration leaves something to be desired - turning the speed to 1.2 helped however, and there is a lot of good info here!

Good info for Starting, bad bad narration

Is good info if you are starting out, if you have experience no need for this one. found it very hard to finish due to the horrible narrator sounds like a computer voice and makes the book boring even though you can learn a lot if you are a beginner

Narrator ruined it

Really interesting material but the narrator is reading like one of those automated voices. I don’t understand how this happens. Useful if you can look past that.
