About this listen

He’s all sharp edges and ready to cut. Aiden has walls up a mile high and won’t let anyone in. It’s frustrating. And challenging. When we’re paired up to solve a case for our criminal investigation class, it’s the perfect time to get closer. The project turns hot when one kiss leads to another. And then to more. I’m ready for something special, something permanent.

Not Aiden. He’s new to relationships and the complications they bring. When our ambitions clash, it’s my emotions that are in a jumble. We both want into the FBI. Can I handle it if only one of us makes it?

I can’t believe I’m stuck working with him. Bryce is too hot for his own good. And why does he smile so much? When we’re paired up on a university project, I want to scream. There’s no way to change it. Well, no legal way. And my hacking days are behind me. Mostly.

The sparks fly hot and fast as we work together, but Bryce isn’t the guy for me. I don’t even like him. At all. But after one smokin’ kiss I can’t stop thinking about him. Damn it. Falling for a tattoo artist isn’t in my plan. Good thing I’ve always been terrible at following the rules.

A steamy rivals to lovers romance!

This was a sweet and steamy rivals to lovers romance.
Both Aiden and Bryce want a position in the Fbi forensic unit and are willing to fight for it but will they lose their hearts in the process?

This was very interesting and the characters were likeable, relatable and well fleshed out.

This has medium angst, fun banter and all the feels.

The narrator did a great job on the book.

sooo good!!

Bryce works at the Get Ink’d part time and is going to school to get his dream job with the FBI. Aiden is also going to school for that same job but there is only one opening. Both men have had family related trauma in their past. They have to complete a project together. They start to learn they are similar, but they also start to fall in love. This was sooo good!! The narrator, Connor Brown did a great job with the narration!

Like it better as audio

I've previously read this and in all honesty it was low on my list for the series. I have to say the audio was much better to me and I enjoyed it a lot more than reading it myself. Brown does makes the narration entertaining and fun to listen to his voice was better than my own for the characters.

good listen

I really enjoyed this series. I had a bit of a hard time with this one. The charters just did not do it for me in this book. I liked the storyline and I love this author's work. I love the tattoo shop and the guys in it. The narrator did a good job with the story.

A Rivals-to-Lovers Romance for Bryce and Aiden

The set-up for 'Bad Boy Ink' is established during the previous book in this series, 'Old Ink'. I think this book can stand alone despite the prior background for these characters. In this installment of the series, tattoo artist Bryce is gunning for the same FBI position that Aiden is after. Both men are former hackers now wanting to prove themselves worthy of working with law enforcement. In their computer forensics class, they are paired on an investigative project. They both hope that a good grade will increase their chances of recruitment to the FBI. Can their competition leave room for a budding romance?

Lyda has written a great character-driven romance. Bryce and Aiden have very similar pasts that have created contrasting personalities. Bryce is upbeat, friendly and flirty to draw others to him. Aiden prefers to solve his issues by being acerbic in order to keep people away. Each man makes assumptions about the other that don't get resolved until they finally spend significant time together getting to know one another. The scenes that have Bryce and Aiden interacting with each other are the most enjoyable of the book for me. I especially liked their sparring dialogue and their need to one-up each other. The reader gets some added levity to the journey of discovery for themselves and each other.

The cadence and inflection of Connor Brown's narration are sometimes unnatural feeling. Some of the text is delivered with an odd rush. Overall, though, it's a good performance.

I requested a free review copy of this audiobook and have written this voluntary opinion.

I really enjoyed Bad Boy Ink. Its really a very sweet story. I loved Aiden and Bryce! Ali Lyda really knows how to write “real” people. Connor Brown did a great job narrating this book. I could really feel the emotions of this one!!

Enemies to lovers

I really like this audiobook! Aiden, computer wiz wants a job with the FBI. He’s tired of hooking up with older guys through a sugar daddy app. Bryce, also a computer wiz wants the same job Aiden is going after. Bryce wants to help his grandmother who was robbed of al of her savings. Both guys are in the same computer class in college and the teacher pairs them together on a project. Aiden has mile high walls all around him. Bryce is very easy going. Everyone loves him. And it really bugs him that Aiden seems to not like him. Bryce keeps working on Aiden. Aiden keeps brushing Bryce off but slowly Bryce is getting under his skin. They start to get to know each other and the sparks start flying. The sex is HOT! They work on the project together and end up getting an A which sets up who will get the job. But there’s only 1 opening... I loved Aiden and Bryce together! And I felt their relationship progressed at a good pace. Especially since they really didn’t like each other in the beginning. I really liked Connor Brown! I plan on listening to more audios by him!

Bryce & Aiden

They’re rivals for the same job at the FBI but when they’re paired up in class for a project, they just might discover they’re so much more. What a great addition to this wonderful series. Bryce and Aiden are magnificent together. I truly enjoyed watching them figure that out for themselves. Aiden had so many walls built up around his heart but it was great watching them crumble little by little with Bryce. I voluntarily reviewed an advanced reader copy of this book.

Aiden and Bryce!

I have loved everything about the Get Inked series. I have to say though, this was my least favorite of all the books. The chemistry just wasn't there as much as it was in the previous books, but that's not to say that I didn't like the characters. Bryce was very likable, where Aiden just didn't have the full spark like other characters in the previous books in the series.

Aiden and Bryce are competing for the same job in the FBI. They have the same skills and understand what it takes to be good at what they do. Bryce tried everything he could to break down Aiden's walls and it took some time for Bryce to show Aiden he could care for him and could be trusted.

I definitely recommend this book to those that have read the other books. I don't feel it can be read as a standalone because of the interconnecting characters. I would highly recommend reading the other books in the series before reading this one, so you know the story of the other characters.

I received and reviewed this book as a part of Gay Romance Reviews.
