Publisher's summary

I was kidnapped on my honeymoon by three masked men.

Blindfolded.
Bound.
Destination unknown.

I was told to stay silent and abide by their rules. But they didn’t realize I wasn’t a victim…not anymore.

The open sea was my backdrop for nine torturous days. During that time, glimmers of my fate were revealed by a man with the mysterious chartreuse-colored eyes. He should have scared me, but he didn’t.

He intrigued me. And I intrigued him.

He punished me when I didn’t listen, which was every single day. But beneath his cruelty, I sensed he was guarding a grave secret.

I was sold.
And in a game of poker, no less.

My buyer? A Russian mobster who likes to collect pretty things. Now that I know the truth, I only have one choice.

Sink or swim.

And when one fateful night presents me the opportunity, I take it. I just never anticipated my actions would leave me shipwrecked with my kidnapper.

He needs me alive. I want him dead.

But as days turn into weeks, one thing becomes clear - I should hate him…but I don’t.

My name is Willow.
His name is Saint.

Ironic, isn’t it? He bears a name that denotes nothing but holiness yet delivers nothing but hell. However, if this is hell on earth…God, save my soul.

Bad Saint is a dark romance containing mature themes that might make some listeners uncomfortable. It includes: kidnapping, captivity, strong violence, mild language, and some dark and disturbing scenes.

This twisted tale is not intended for the faint-hearted. So, if you’re game…welcome to the madness.

"Sinful and compelling, Bad Saint takes you on a darkly romantic, emotionally tense ride that will leave you aching for more.” (New York Times best-selling author Elle Kennedy)

"Shipwrecked on a deserted island with a beautiful, tortured villain? Sign me up!" (K.A. Tucker, USA Today best-selling author of Ten Tiny Breaths)

Bad Saint is a dark and emotional romance that you are sure to love." (NYT best-selling author Kylie Scott)

Intense

What a great find this series has been. It’s not your typical romance at all. It’s dark and so well written that you can visualize everything and feel all the drama like you’re right there. There are constant obstacles and the next challenge in the den of the beast seems to be it will be the most challenging.

More Please!!! Couldn’t Get Enough!!!!

HOLY MOLY!! This was my first time experiencing Monica James, and yes, it was an experience! I was completely and utterly captivated by this book.

Saint Hennessey is a force to be reckoned with and Willow learns that first hand.

Willow has been taking care of herself since the moment her mother turned her back on her at the age of fifteen. The one person in this world who should’ve been her rock and kept her grounded was the one person who brought her nothing but shame. Determined to move forward and take back her life, Willow begins modeling and landing top jobs which is where she meets Drew, the man who makes her heart flutter. It’s a whirlwind romance and they are married in only a few short weeks. But when you know it’s real, you just know. Well at least she thought she knew.

Wanting to show his new bride a good time, this rich bad-boy takes Willow away to a desolate island for their honeymoon where they will consummate their marriage and relax under the scorching sun. Excitement fills her veins and happiness swims in her belly but in the blink of an eye everything changes.

Suddenly the man she married is not who she thought and Willow is swept off her feet but not in the way she was hoping. Bound and gagged, her kidnappers keep her on a ship while they sail the open seas. She’s alone and scared but determined to fight. She’s determined to escape and will not let them break her. But as the ominous group of men try to break down her walls and turn her into the submissive they need her to be for their boss back in Russia, Willow can’t help but feel an unexplainable pull to one of the bad guys.

He hides behind a mask and not just the one that covers his face. Saint Hennessy is an enigma, a mix of evil and good. But can Willow trust his kind gestures, especially when he follows them up with a punishment for her unsuccessful attempts at escape?

As the days at sea pass in a mix of evil and heartbreak, Willow will fight for her freedom and discover a part of herself that she never knew existed. In a rush against time and now with a new dilemma, Willow and Saint will be forced to make peace in order to survive. But how much trust can they put in each other? And at the end of the day can she now call him a friend? Or will Saint prove himself unworthy of Willow’s trust as the cards unfold and the truth comes to light?

This story was addictive! A fast-paced adrenaline rush of emotions that I couldn’t get enough of. The writing was flawless, the characters held all the traits that glue me to the pages and have me fully invested. Even though Willow was being held against her will, she had the backbone of a warrior, of a woman determined to survive. I loved that about her and routed for her the entire time. And Saint may be the villain in this story but man, you can’t help but fall in love with him. The mystery in his eyes, the fierceness that exploded from his soul. He was all alpha, with his dark and domineering demeaner and his external scars that told a story of his past. But you also got to see a side to him that sucked you in and mad you fall head over heals for this man. A side that showed his true vulnerability and that revealed the truth that they were both pawns in someone else’s game.

I listened to this story on audiobook and I’m so glad I did. This was the first time I listened to narrator, Yvonne Syn, and honestly, I was hesitant because I normally only listen to dual narration because it takes a lot to keep my attention and I get bored with one narrator but seriously, this woman had the perfect voice and totally nailed Willow’s character. I was so invested in this story and give Yvonne a round of applause for a fantastic performance. I could clearly picture every scene and every second of this story.

I can’t give this book enough praise! This is at the top of my favorite reads list!!

I’m anxiously looking forward to where this story will go next. It ends on a cliffhanger but have no fear, book two is already available so you bet your bottom dollar that I’m diving right in!

ABSOLUTELY RECOMMEND!!!!!

Saaaaiint

Well...wow. Not sure what I can say here besides the fact that I need to get book 2 NOW.

Bad Saint was action-packed, angst-driven, sexy, and addictive!

So much happened in this book that you’re better off going in blind and experiencing it all.

As for the narrator, Yvonne Syn, was AMAZING. Loved her!!! She even made Saint sound sexy haha!!

Onto the sequel!!! Definitely recommend this book!

I was on the edge of my seat!

I am a little speechless right now! Right from the beginning I was intrigued with this story and what was going to happen. Then it happened and I was hooked! I needed to know what was going to happen. The author did a great job on keeping me on the edge of my seat. Her storytelling was on point! She left me hanging on every single word. I am immediately jumping into the next book!

Dark and twisty

This book has so many twist and turns in it! It’s dark but sweet full of intrigue and action. It does contain elements not for the weak at heart though

SENSATIONAL.. MYSTERY & DELICIOUSLY DARK MAYHEM

Well I know I’m going to go completely insane.. I’m going to be inconsolable.. I may even scream and throw things.. but I knew going in that this was a TRILOGY and that the third book hadn’t been released yet - but this book tempted, teased and taunted me with its dark promises. And WOW this gripping, tense, twisty, edge of your seat dark rollercoaster certainly gave me what I wanted. Told from Willow’s PoV, with a few very brief thoughts from Saint’s, it’s emotionally tense from beginning to end.. and you know book 2 is going to go emotionally deeper, sexually darker and the ‘feel factor’ will surely go off the charts. Kidnapped virginal bride Willow is now held captive on a boat bound for Hell.. however she’s strong, resourceful and never gives up her determined fight for freedom.. and also for answers. But the angsty brooding sexual chemistry between her and her masked captor named Saint during their fraught eventful and dangerous journey to Russia, is complex, dark and seeped with mystery like the man. However secrets do get answered, a truce will be made and a beautiful ‘you own my soul’ relationship will finally be forged from a brutal black beginning.. but the maniacal psychotic mobster isn’t going to let go of his property.. and I’m sure things aren’t going to get any better on Day 34 of Willow’s treacherous captivity either.

Worth a credit? For me, definitely yes.. absolutely fictional ‘never would it ever’ but I loved loved loved every chilling thrilling second of it. Willow is a feisty, smart, resourceful, determined kickass and Saint is a dark sexy force, an enigma, a deep multi-layered puzzle waiting to be solved. There’s well-paced action and non-stop drama, a wee bit of sensual awakening, torturous twists, well won highs, bitter bombshells and an eye-bulging “wtf🙀, no.. no.. no.. no.. no” of a CLIFFHANGER ending that’ll make you grab book 2 as soon as this one ends.

Seriously dark stuff....great read

This is the first Monica James book I have read. Yvonne Syn did an incredible job with the narration. The characters in this novel are scary and believable. The story line is dark, dangerous, sexy and engaging. Willow is terrified. Saint and his cohorts are terrifying. Those two ideas create a mix that makes this a must read and a page turner for anybody who can read dark without pause. And if you need to pause you will be compelled to return to it and finish it. I am looking forward to the next book in the series.
