Publisher's summary

She's the woman he's been hired to kidnap. But ZeZe Vargas has other ideas...like getting them both out of this nightmare alive. Just one problem. She's crazy. Certifiably. Because while he's plotting their escape, the petite Asian beauty is plotting something much more deadly....

Max "Kill It Again" MacKilligan has no idea what one of her own is doing with all these criminal humans until she realizes that Ze has no idea who or what he is. Or exactly how much power he truly has.

But Max is more than happy to bring this handsome jaguar shifter into her world and show him everything he's been missing out on. A move that might be the dumbest thing she's ever done once she realizes how far her enemies will go to wipe her out. Too bad for them Ze is willing to do whatever it takes to keep her alive...and honey badgers are just so damn hard to kill!

Contains mature themes.

The ending seemed to come out of nowhere.

I love this book and these characters but sometimes I get whiplash from the sudden scene changes, lol. Ze is so hilarious but the three guys didn't seem to serve much purpose unless they're being set up for their own stories. I'd love to see them really lose their attitudes.

Amazing story!!

Honestly, I love the badgers in this more than the love story. Ze and Max are sweet together, but what really made this an amazing read was the badger sisters, and Max’s badger teammates. I laughed out loud several times! I’m not a fan of this narrator, she emphasizes too many words in every sentence, and her accents are total crap. Mairi is properly pronounced Mary, which a quick Google search would have told her, but she insists on pronouncing is “Mah-ree.

Arrrrrrgh!

It's so easy to get immersed in the shifter world Laurenston has created. I really enjoy how she crosses over characters from one series to another, the Pride series to this one. Even so doing, each story has it's own individual flavor. The third story of this series was definitely worth the wait. It figures that the craziest character, Max, of the three sisters would have the wildest story. I'm torn in a positive way of the introduction of new characters and expansion of this shifter universe because it just leaves me wanting more. There were a couple of spots in the recording that repeated a sentence and phrase, but nothing long enough to be too distracting. Strong performance by Charlotte Kane, who has a clear and pleasant voice. Not the best in masculine voices, but good enough to be distinguished from the female characters. There are so many characters in this story!

Love this

Series is wonderful, narrator normally wonderful. Weird that someone from Wisconsin (Charlie) had a southern accent all of a sudden in this book. But still loved the story.

I love all of Shelly's books.

Her characters are strong and they stay themselves. They make me laugh, even in public.

Girl Power to the Max

Max reminded me of Harley Quinn. Charlotte Lane was inconsistent in har narration, often giving Charlie a southern accent when she was from Wisconsin/Connecticut. Very entertaining, not as fast paced as the first two books.

Great story, but narration is disappointing.

Love the story, especially the way characters from previous stories are seamlessly woven in.

However, it seems the narrator didn't research the characters very thoroughly. Charlie was from Connecticut then Wisconsin. How did she end up with a southern accent? There doesn't seem to be much difference between Spanish and Italian accents and many of the men sound like adolescent boys.

Definitely worth reading - not so sure about listening.

Hilarious

I never thought that there would be anyone more perilous that the Smith’s but ZeZe who is hired to kidnap Max Mackilligan finds out how crazy were-badgers are. During the assignment he has a journey of self discovery and meets bears, cats and bad guys galore; and who are they afraid of? Yep, Max and her sisters, a psychotic basketball team and the best cinnamon rolls he ever tasted in addition to a revelation of love and family.

Love the badgers

Heck yeah! Love me some crazy honey badgers. This is Max’s story, and it’s a great one. Funny and outrageous as all of Shelleys books are. Maybe next time we could see how the Smiths pack is doing? I believe Reed needs
a book?
