About this listen

"Can't Get Enough" by Shelly Laurenston: Even for a dragon, Ailean the Wicked has a bad reputation. For 150 years he's been renowned for his fighting prowess, but now he's got a new conquest in mind - a gorgeous dragoness known as Shalin the Innocent. Ailean suspects she's anything but. And while he's saving her from her enemies, he plans to prove that, even in human form, a bad-boy dragon can show a girl a good time that's truly off the scale....

"Spellbound" by Cynthia Eden: No witch in her right mind would summon an immortal soul-hunter to her aid, but Serena Tyme needs Luis D'Amil's help to destroy the warlock who's stalking her coven. And she's willing to pay any price he names...especially when the tall, dark, sexy-as-hell assassin shows her he can work some sensual magic of his own.

"Turn Me On" by Noelle Mack: Finally, Beth Danforth has found a man who can flip her switch. That's because supersexy Justin Watts, CEO of SpectraSign, is literally made of light. His dazzling, custom-built body can't ever wear out. And talk about energy - Beth can't get enough of the guy. The sex is electrifying. The love will never fade away....

Really good listen

I had a really good time listening especially to S. Laurensten. Did not care for the last story, it just wasn’t to my taste.

Really charming ...

great characters, big extended family of typical family personalities, dragons living as human beings … noisy loud boisterous clan, and a calm, quiet book-loving female dragon dropped into the middle of the family chaos .. it's a charmer, happy ending and all.

Two out of three ain’t bad

The first two stories were absolutely incredible! The narrator did a fabulous job. She brought the characters to life and pulled you right into the books.

They could’ve skipped the third story altogether. The narrator did a decent job with it, but I could have done without the stereotyping of the speech of the one single minority in the whole book (I am assuming that the narrator read it the way that the author wrote it, and an editor should have told the author that it was absolutely inappropriate and pretty much sucked), and I didn’t care for the wishy washy heroine or the lack of depth of both the main characters. So the third book was less than “meh”.

So, two out of three ain’t bad.

As with all anthologies some are better than other

Overall this is a good collection of four books put together in the anthology. The authors did a decent job with building the stories and the characters enough to allow the reader/listener to envision the worldscape and plot line that the various authors had intended. I believe based on the narrator that there were no huge glaring issues with regard to spelling or grammar, but since I didn't read the book myself I cannot attest to this. that being said I did enjoy the narrator. I think she did an excellent job bringing the various characters voices to life and distinguish each character accordingly. I would listen to other books that she narrated. I will admit I am biased in that I probably enjoyed the novelette by GA Aiken the best since it gave some backstory to the dragon kin series. I enjoy her books and find her characters to be intensely amusing and easily envisioned to be real life, character flawed, all around enjoyable to listen to and root for as they meander true life. Let's be honest, you could envision dragon boys shoving each other at the window and laughing or daring each other to break through the wall with their heads just to prove it can be done. So, enjoy the four books in this series perhaps you will find a new author you hadn't heard before and will enjoy.

OK but not my favorite

I think I ran out of Alien stories to have found this. I was OK but not my cup of tea, slowly unfolding with strange world building but in the detail I like. The characters were OK but I did speed up the narration speed to just get to the end I quit after the first story. I think I was just in the wrong genre as I'm not usually a fantasy fan but more action/space/syfy and this was not it.

A pretty good anthology… Dragon Kin for the win!

I have a tendency to really like anthologies! Especially when they have at least one story that is from an author that I enjoy reading or carries a short story from a series I like. This anthology covers both of those bases in spades! Here are my ratings per story: Can't Get Enough (Dragon Kin #0.1 chronological reading order) by Shelly Laurenston (G A Aiken) 5 stars Spellbound by Cynthia Eden 3.5 stars Turn Me On by Noëlle Mack 3.5 stars I have read, Can't Get Enough multiple times to refresh my memory as new books are added to the series. Admittedly, this is one of my faves! Who wouldn't love Ailean the Wicked and his lady love Shalin the Innocent? If you haven't read this series by G A Aiken (A.K.A. Shelly Laurenston). I highly recommend it!

Great Short Stories

All three short stories were very different, but very entertaining. I love Emma's narration: she does such a good job of differentiating the various chacters, it's a very enjoyable listen.
