Publisher's summary

Even broken warlocks have a One, right?

Balthazar knows he shouldn’t feel guilty for wanting what his friend has: a One and child. He adores their little boy and is happy to be an honorary uncle, but he wants his own. Amherst Coven has been blessed with fated mates recently, and Balthazar yearns to be the next to find his match.

Grant is a warlock without powers, and he was okay with that. He’d come to terms with being broken decades ago. That didn’t mean he wanted to move to a coven after spending his entire life living amongst humans. But, to make his mother happy, he’d do just that.

Fate has a funny way of working, and both Balthazar and Grant know that it was fate that brought them together. Things aren’t quite how either envisioned, but that doesn’t mean they can’t make things work. After all, they were paired because they were perfect for one another.

Balthazar is the second book in the Warlocks of Amherst series. Each audiobook will focus on a different couple and can be listened to as stand-alones, but previous couples will make appearances in future books. This audiobook is intended for adults only as it contains a fated mate pair and plenty of magical sexy times that leads to male pregnancy as this is an MPREG story.

Love this Series

This is book 2 in Taylor Rylan's new series. Michael Ferraiuolo has the widest range of voices and the accent he has given to Balthazar is just swoon worthy. I love this series. Each book is fully of fated mates, babies and old friends. I loved it.

Enjoyed it

I love this series and this was another good story! Narration was excellent. I read the books last year, so this is a bonus listen! Although part of a series, this story could be listened to as a standalone.

Happy for Bal

I'm so happy Bal got his HEA. Grant was the perfect One for him. Their coming together was great. I was left with some questions at the end of this book, but it didn't take away from the overall feel.

Bal and Grant!!

I really like these two. Their relationship is very different from the others. I like how it evolved instead of instantly happened. I truly enjoyed this book when I read it, but the narration makes it fantastic. The different voices and emotion behind the the words make it 5 stars. Highly recommend this one!!

A lot of potential

Overall, I thought the story was good. I liked the characters and the story was interesting enough to keep my attention. I have ADHD and if I get bored I tend to quickly lose focus. That was not a problem here. That said. By the end I was disappointed that nothing really happened. I kept thinking things were building only to get to the end and find out I was wrong.
All of the potential conflict and mystery I found myself getting invested in throughout the story didn’t really go anywhere. For example, the mysteriously locked powers, mentions of issues with a disgruntled pack, or all the camera issues. I kept waiting for a conspiracy I didn’t see coming or an action sequence that never really came.

I do like the world the author has built and it is possible that some of the issues I felt were unaddressed will be addressed in the next book so I’m going to give it a shot.

Lovely addition to Warlocks of Amherst

Balthazar and Grant have an interesting beginning that will pull you in and not let you go until the very end. I enjoyed the new characters that were introduced, even the ones that you might want to shake. The secrets that were discovered made this story fascinating.

Michael Ferraiuolo does amazing with all the various accents and voices.
