About this listen

From the New York Times best-selling author of the Legion of the Damned® novels comes the final volume in the post-apocalyptic military science fiction trilogy about America warring with itself and the people trying to keep it together....

The Second Civil War continues to rage as Union president Samuel T. Sloan battles to keep America whole and, more than that, to restore the country to its former greatness.

"Wanted Dead or Alive." Following a fateful battle between Union Army major Robin "Mac" Macintyre and her sister, the New Confederacy places a price on Mac's head, and bounty hunters are on her trail.

But there's work to be done, and Mac is determined to help Sloan reunify the country by freeing hundreds of Union POWs from appalling conditions in Mexico and capturing a strategic oil reserve that lies deep inside Confederate territory.

However, to truly have peace it will be necessary to capture or kill the New Confederacy's leadership, and that includes Mac's father, General Bo Macintyre.

A happy ending to tie up this trilogy

I found the ending satisfying but also sort of predictable. I'm glad the author stuck to three books instead of trying to stretch it out.

A very fine trilogy

I really enjoyed this trilogy, there was enough action to keep you hooked reading as well as a lot of characters that had so much depth. I have read many of Mr Dietz books but I liked these the best.

very disappointed and offended

Mr. Dietz,
I have read many of your books, your Halo books are among my favorite. This series had so much potential but rather than tell a realistic and fantastic story you created a mish-mash of social justice and liberal drivel. Your painting of southern conservatives as the vile and evil creatures was highly offensive. You seemed to go out of your way to make your male characters villains and less than competent. The bright point of this story is how the story begins with a natural disaster and not an act of foreign or domestic aggression that was refreshing.
