You're on a road trip with an old man and a younger one.
Business stories are told. Wisdom is revealed. A new perspective emerges. Companies like Costco and Kodak, General Motors and Walmart provide color and texture as they appear on the horizon and in the rearview mirror. Real companies. Real decisions. Real outcomes. Jeff Bezos and Amazon give this road trip its rhythm as the four pillars of their success are made plain. It's a wonderful success, easily repeated, even by a lemonade stand. But only if you understand the importance of the marshmallow.

What did you love best about Be Like Amazon?
It's a quick listen. But there's value in almost every minute.
What did you like best about this story?
There *was* a story. Most business books don't lay out a story for their concepts. Yes, the story was lame, and felt forced but it really helped the concepts to be sticky. If you were to make a film of this book, what would the tag line be?
Eisenberg's best book no movie.Any additional comments?
The Amazon framework is a great prelude to Eisenberg's Buyer Legends process. Worthwhile.Transform your business (life) with this framework

Would you listen to Be Like Amazon again? Why?
I plan on listening to this audio book every year. It's packed with timeless principles that need to be re-enforced through repetition and reflection on your progress. What was one of the most memorable moments of Be Like Amazon?
There are a quite few things I like about this book. First, the metaphor of “the ocean of life” was a very powerful story element, as well as many others. Second, I was impressed by the simplicity of complex concepts, which made it quite easy to reflect on.What about Roy H Williams’s performance did you like?
Very engaging and approachable performance. The storyline reenforced many of the concepts directly, adding a level of depth to the application of the lessons. Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?
This is one you can easily listen to in one sitting on a plane ride or a long drive and absorb it fully from beginning to end.Any additional comments?

I didn't like the character names of the story, but great strategy to remember the name of the book and context.

📓 Be like Amazon
This is a brief work framed around a car ride with a grandson and grandfather. The grandfather gives great examples and stories about business. It was absolutely amazing. I learned a lot and believe I will remember quite a bit of it.
The narration was fun and appropriate. There were sound effects like automobile door closing/opening and almost continuous traffic/engine rumbling. I do not care for background noises in most of my listening. However, the banter and conversation along with the subtle back ground noise [restaurant, etc.] made it cozy, like I was in the car with grandpa telling us about business.
The pet name of 'Sunshine' for the grandfather's grandson began to annoy me. As did 'bada bing, bada boom.' Other than that, no complaints.
Fantastic book and fantastic narration! 5 stars

Engaging Business Principle Lessons 📓

Instead of proper names, the authors chose to use pet names for this strange duo, but that didn't take away from the content. It added to the surreal nature of the book which got right to the point of improving the younger man's failing business. Following a few simple principles laid out by Jeff Bezos of Amazon that concentrate on customer experience as its foundation, I found this book entertaining, educational, and worth listening to more than once because it was jammed with so much incredible information.
It was just the right length, and the two narrators did a great job bantering with each other without sounding like they were reading, which is amazing. A lot of the book helped me to reinforced the things I have been doing right as a small business. That alone was comforting because I tend to be accused often by friends and my staff of being obsessed with my customer's experience. And now I understand that Jeff Bezos thinks it's a good thing. So I guess it's okay for me, too.
I am so grateful that I was provided with a complimentary copy of this book in exchange for an honest review because I'm sure I will be watching these authors for future works. They clearly know of what they speak.
Bravo to a terrific couple of authors as well as narrators. More, please!
