About this listen

National best-selling author Hannah Reed returns with her fourth Scottish Highland mystery, in which she is swept up in a murder following a Sir Walter Scott celebration.

Spring is here, and romance author Eden Elliott has settled into her new life in the picturesque village of Glenkillen. Love is all around her, but Eden is still searching for her own real-life romance. She is also dealing with a creative meltdown and a robber who is running amok in the village assaulting local pensioners. When Eden is invited to a supper in honor of one of Scotland’s most celebrated literary giants, a guest is murdered, and she puts aside her personal issues to dig into deeply buried secrets. But she better find the killer soon if she wants to be alive to overcome that writer’s block - and write another happy ending.

Murder, mayhem and love continue

There are times when I wanted to take Edon by the sholders and shake. But I still found this series very entertaining. This last book left me a bit disppointed. The primary constable, up until this point had not acted so blindly, How ever, I am glad I listened to all three.

Be Still My Bleating Heart

Another enjoyable story from Hannah Reed. This was a bit shorter than the previous books in the series, but all the usual characters showed up, for bit parts with a few new characters added to play the suspects and the accused. If you are following the series, enjoy!

5/5 I want more!

Excellent Cozy Mystery Series --"A Scottish Highland Mystery". It starts out sweet and slow and then there are murders to solve, the writing of books, making friends and falling in love with Scotland, all mangled together into a tale worth hearing. A must read and listen because the narration by Angela Dawe is lovely. APPLAUSE TO Hannah Reed AND Angela Dawe--5/5

Glad to see another in series

I’ve enjoyed all the books in this series. And even though I’d suspected the “ who” in the “who dun it” I didn’t know the why. Surprised with ending. I was kinda hoping for the other man in her life to be “dream man” but it’s all good. No spoilers revealed I hope.

Excellent listen

Fun with great background research. Enough twists and turns to keep you interested. Keeps on mystery track with just a little romance and interaction to make it real! Great author and the narrator is perfect!

Sweet

For 1 credit I wish it were longer. I have enjoyed Hannah’s stories but this one was short and sweet.

Another winner

Hannah Reed and Angela Dawe team up once again to bring the latest installment in the Scottish Highland Mystery series. This one has all the zany characters and laugh out loud moments as previous installments have. I highly recommend this book and series to fans of cozy mysteries.

Good until ...

Great listen as the others were. However, the addition of a new character at the very end was not plausible and slapstick!!! I sincerely hope she does not carry over into the next book!!!!! She is the reason for lowering the score as this person spoiled the ending. If this character is carried over to the next book, I will not be purchasing it. She gives seniors a bad name.
